How to get Harrods Black Bay?

Hello,
Hope everyone is keeping safe!
Obviously this won't be possible at present, but just curious how one can get about getting one of the Harrods edition Tudor Black Bays- I'd like to know how the process works. Are they just there available to anyone, or is it a VIP thing much like getting a Daytona, Pepsi, etc. I haven't been able to get a definitive answer- answers range from "just walk in" to "VIP only" to "short list". Of course you need to be in London and at the store, but beyond that, what's needed?
Thanks! And feel free to share photos of yours! Hoping to get one once things normalize- love the look of this thing!

How to get Harrods Black Bay?

From what I understand, you literally walk in and express interest and they order for you. After a certain duration (typically 6 months) they call you and you have to pick it up on location (no delivery). There have been members on the forum who are US based who phone in interest and fly over when ready or have local family members pick up.

Hello there. You could also email Harrods customer service to register your interest as others have done. I walked in to register my details with a sales advisor by the Tudor watch display and then had a helpful nudge many months later from a Panerai sales advisor who made it happen. The waiting list system (if there is an organised one) is farcical and probably draws parrallels to Rolex's. Spend and you shall receive more quickly.

I believe they have a fairly consistent waiting list policy. You don’t need purchase history. Just put your name down for one and in anything from 3-6 months you should be able to get a call to pick it up in person or by someone else you authorise to collect on your behalf. I put my name down personally around Sep/Oct last year and got the email to pick it up in March. Unfortunately due to the current situation I can’t pick it up as I’m in Singapore. :((

Plus due to economic situation I’m holding off any purchase until my job situation is secure.

Go to Harrods; buy watch. Task complete. Repeat as necessary.

^ wow. 6 months waiting is worth a 50% premium.

Good thing green is not a thing for me.

Blue is though. So i chased the BBBBB as no time to go to a Bucherer store.

I did post a while back that I had been offered the ‘Harrods’ and would buy it and send ‘over the pond’ in the hope that the person would be happy to help me source a watch in the US and return the favour, due to the lack of supply in the UK.
I even offered to fly out with the Harrods as I could then have a few days holiday and return with my new watch.
However, it was quickly pointed out that there were plenty of potential fraud opportunities on both sides so i never pursued it.
And with hindsight, it could have easily ended in tears.

I personally went into Harrods and put my name down. Had the call 3 months later and picked it up.
This was in November 2018, so it might be even quicker now.

The only problem with them now is that originally they were a very limited run and people were touting that they would hit 10 grand but not so much anymore because Tudor keeps pumping them out and the secondary market has tanked in price. You can pick one up on the secondary market in the 4s if you look hard enough. There are a ton for sale and are priced high and not moving.

That's fine by me since I'm not looking to flip. Green is my fav colour, and I genuinely just love the look of the watch. Cheers.
On that note, any idea if they still have the Harrods logo on back, and feature a number?

I had the same 3 watches as above but couldn’t bond with the Harrods and GMT so flipped them. I also had a red bezel but regret flipping that one. So now I’m down to 2 a Bucherer and a Bronze.

Do the numbering say: xx/yy

Where xx is watch’s special number and yy is total number in run.

No just a number and I’m sure they’re now into the 4000s

Is it just the Harrods (Green) that tanked? How about the Bucherer (Blue) and Qatar (Red)?

Did they initially specify a number for the Harrods?

Qatar is very rare and no longe rain production
Harrods and Bucherer are still in production and value is not what it used to be

Qatar is made in very few quantities some say 200-300
Bucherer and Harrods 4000-5000 and counting

AND the Qatar was for VIP and some people from the Qatari government while the 2 others were for sale for anyone

No, they’ll just sell to locals who can walk in to collect (once they’re open)
