Unexpected incoming - Tudor Black Bay Harrods Edition

So last October (2019) I called the Tudor boutique in Harrods (just out of curiosity more than anything) to enquire about the availability of their special edition Black Bay.

Spoke to a very nice young lady who took all my contact details & said currently (at that time) customers were experiencing around a 6 month wait.

Fair enough I said & that was that.

Tbh, I didn’t hold much hope as I had no previous spend history with Harrods & I got the impression the young S.A. was just paying me lip service and I imagined as soon as she put the phone down, the scrap of paper she’d just scribbled my details on was promptly filed in the trash!

Imagine my surprise then to receive the below email last Wednesday 3rd September 2020 completely out of the blue!

Its been a bit longer than the 6 months originally quoted but I’m not surprised what with the COVID situation and all.

Fair play though to Harrods, I really didn’t expect that - but wasn’t going to let the opportunity pass by.

Regardless to say, yesterday (Saturday 5th September) was spent travelling- it’s about a 300 mile round trip from my home city in the North down to London & back.

Unfortunately they won’t post the watches - it’s collection only.

Anyway, here’s a few pics - the watch is stunning in the flesh, another one pictures don’t do justice too.

I’m actually blown away by the quality of this thing.

That copper tone printing on the dial is stunning honestly and that green bezel is just beautiful.

Fair to say this ones a keeper

Cheers

Congrats!

Still one of my favourite Tudors!

Just of interest, what “thousand” is your numbered watch? Just trying to understand how many more they’ve created...if you don’t mind sharing

AWESOME! Congratulations and an excellent Tudor. I love the darker green bezel, the gilt dial, and the touch of green on the seconds hand. Wear and enjoy the heck out of it!

Fantastic buddy. I called up at the start of August and was told to be ready in 18 months time. I love this watch and the connection to world famous Harrods is another bonus. Great buy.

Printing on the dial is exceptional. Great texture. And awesome photography!

Glad to see Harrods requiring in-person delivery and removing tags and stickers. According to some of the fiery false outrage you read on this forum, you should have refused the watch and stormed out in protest! Ha!

Congrats it looks fantastic, I’ve been on the list since February but been having a bit of a wobble the last few days as I quite like the new OP41 but can’t afford both

Yes, unfortunately one of the biggest stumbling blocks of this disease

Too many nice watches, not enough funds to buy them all.

Good luck whichever one you choose.

Lol...it does happen, I seem to forget key questions too!

My understanding is that they are produced and sequentially numbered. I did hear that they initially planned to produce a certain amount but then decided to increase the production number but this could be continued forever potentially.

Yes your probably right.

I bought this piece purely because it’s beautiful & quite different to any other watch I currently own.

Whether it’s limited production or produced forever makes no difference to me.

I have Omega’s & Rolex that are general production pieces - I just enjoy them for what they are which I’m sure the majority of members around here do anyway.

I guess while ever it’s selling they will keep making it.

Fair play to Harrods & Tudor though, considering it is so exclusive to Harrods, they haven’t tried to cash in - it’s exactly the same price as a regular Black Bay.

Cheers

Congrats!

Obviously Rolex can make longer minute hands that decently overlap the minute markers. Should have made the new Sub41, GMT, DSSD, and SD43 hands a little longer, to reach at least halfway. These Tudor hands go to the end of the markers.

Congratulations, it’s the only green bezel watch that I like.

Does anyone think they will release the BB58 as a Harrods Edition eventually?
