Hello from SoCal

Hi, just got my first Rolex (preowned) and found it to be a bit snug. So I ordered a new Jubilee link from the original seller (Beckertime) and had a local jewelry store install it.

We are doing some work around the house and I found that somewhere along the line I must have brushed up against some wet paint as there was a very small white smudge of paint on the crystal, so asked him to try and clean it off for me.

Well, it looked great at first glance, but when I got home and looked at it in room lighting from various angles I noticed the unmistakable scawl of a polish wheel across the crystal. I am devistated.

Came here looking for advice on polishing the crystal so I will search the forums.

Just dropped in this thread to say hi...sorry for rambling. I'm Ken Wilson from San Diego, California and the proud owner of a vintage two-tone DateJust.

First,welcome to TRF Ken!!
Second,I would take it back to who did this crystal clean and show him you're dislike for the marks left on the crystal...Have him correct it...
Or,there is a product called Polywatch that works great on removing scratches or marks on the crystal...I'm not sure where you could aquire this in the US as I'm in Canada(another member may know)...But with this product you could do it yourself at home with a little time and gentle rubbing!!! It works wonders!!
A great looking DateJust by the way!!
Rob.

All you need is a tube of polywatch, which you can order online. 5 min of work and you'll be back in business. They did a lame job, don't give them the chance to do more damage when you can easily take care of it yourself.
Regards,
Brian
