Icon20 Fs -- Mont Blanc Oscar Wilde Limited Edition Set

All,

I don't know if any one has ever seen this particular Limited Edition Set from 1994 or not, but I have a listing up now on eBay. Oscar Wilde was a brilliant writer with a very, very colorful history.

He was famously quoted as saying: "I have the simplest of tastes, I only like the very best."

Once when traveling, upon entering customs he was asked: "Mr. Wilde, have you anything to declare?", to which he responded: "Only my brilliance!"

If this guy was alive today, he would be an absolute rock star for his hubris and swagger. If you would like to own a writing instrument that complements your Rolex lifestyle, this is definitely the pen set for you! Professional pen sellers are asking north of $3,500 for the set, but I have it for $2,750. It is brand new, and has never been used. The box sat unopened for approximately 15 years, until a recent move, and the decision to just sell it.

As a fellow TRF member, I will offer a nice discount from the listing price to another TRF member. If interested, you can PM me.

The link address to the listing is:

Here is a pic of the entire set which includes everything, including all boxes & papers, and the elusive outside wrapper boxes too. Apparently having those too is a big deal. Check it out!

Additional pics upon request. Had a link to the eBay listing but was removed when this thread was put in the proper Pen Classified section.

Is this the original one with the wrong signature or the second edition

Apparently mb released an initial edition with the signature
Of his son or brother. This was recalled but replaced with the correct signature

The first edition was recalled but some still remain

How would I know? I bought it in the 2003-2004 timeframe. I saw a reference to this during a web search but the site is down for maintenance.

Can you post a pic of the wrong signature or reference for what to look for?

The edition with the wrong signature was Dumas (1996). They initially issued the edition with the son's signature but recalled the lot and re-issued the correct signature with the father's. Both versions are readily available in secondary market.

This Wilde edition is 1994. Beautiful pens. Good luck with your sale.
