Papers

When you guys buy a watch, Do you get your papers right then?

When I bought my LV on saturday, I asked the AD if the watch came with the certificate or was it going to be the new style card? They told me that I would not get the papers right then, they would be mailed to me in about 30 days. Is this normally how it goes??

My brother bought a sub a couple of weeks ago from a different AD and the same thing happened to him.

The papers should be right there, in hand, along with the watch.
I had my watch shipped to me from another AD out of state and the watch and the papers were accidentally separated, but they overnighted the papers once they realized they were missing. Other than that, I don't see why you should be without them for so long.

I bought my Sub LV (Z series) a couple of weeks ago from an AD here in my town. I didn't get the new card but all the paperwork was with the watch when I purchased it. I don't know why it was different in your case. Congrats on the purchase though. I'm really enjoying my LV.

Paperwork should be with the watch. That is how it comes from Rolex.

I've heard of that. I always get the papers at time of purchase. There are a few ADs (U.S. speaking) that have been know to hold the papers. Some have a 30day retun policy. Saves them dealing with signed paperwork--not the best thing IMHO.

Ok well they had to ship the watch to me out of state so I could save on the sales tax, so I should get it tommorrow. Maybe I misunderstood. I hope.

BUT, This did happen to my brother 2 weeks ago. He also bought from a reputable AD.

Great. At least I know it is not unheard of.

Oh it doesn't mean the AD is not reputable, I wonder sometimes what happens to a returned watch that never had the papers with it....

The AD typed and retyped up the papers on the spot (they misspelled my name) and gave it to me with my LV. And they also have a 30 day return policy.

I always buy pre-owned, except for last year when I bought a 116234 from an AD. It was a friend's AD. I got the papers after a few weeks.

The Warranty Certificate (and now the Plastic Warranty Card) are part and parcel of the box and booklets in which the watch comes.

So, I cannot for the life of me understand why the AD cannot hand over the Certificate (duly stamped and dated) at the very same time he sells the watch?

Sorry, but your AD's attitude makes absolutely no sense to me at all!!

JJ - I absolutly agree All 3 of mine came with the papers in the box. The AD's name is printed (by Rolex I assume) but my name and the purchase date are all hand written
