I really would like to know how many of you actually use the functionality of the GMTII in everyday use? What other time zones are you tracking and do you travel often? I see alot of pics but seems that most are not set....

My friend has a GMT II C and he has the 24 hr hand on Vegas time (were in Michigan)
He travels there quite a bit so it makes it easier.

I think I would run the 24 and 12 hr hand on my local time and when I was to travel
Id move the 12 hr hand.

Rarely use. Do travel often to S. America & Eastern Europe but I know my time changes already.

First,
The GMT has evolved into a travelers watch for the most part.

There was a time where I did track GMT time for both flying and controlling aircraft.

Today, I keep my GMT watches on local time and only jump the Mercedes hour hand when I travel through timezones. That way I always have a reference to my home time on the 24hr bezel.

I do have an older GMT Master where the hands are always set to local time and can't be changed (they are synchronozed together). For this watch I move the bezel when travelling and read the new timezone on the 24hr bezel and the dial hour hand is always my home reference. But since I get confused easily, this one doesn't see much travel time any more......

Was just in Australia, Taz, NZ, Bora Bora, Pago Pago,, Tahiti,,, and it was invaluable to me with the changing of time zones.

I could keep track of my FL time, the local time and using the rotating bezel was able to check on Hong Kong time where I was doing some business.

It was great!!

of course,, having my G Shock with 32 time zone at the push of a button just verified the GMT was on the money,,, but once I got the + /- GMT from the G shock,, i used my GMT. The G Shock is a bit of insurance just incase!!

Yes I use my GMT for tracking Hong Kong/China time and also I track the east coast of Canada time as well as my family and relatives are

scattered all over the world. I do travel to Asia once a year and from West coast to East coast in Canada visiting family and friends. I live in

Calgary, AB Canada. My hour hands are set on local Calgary time and my 24 hr hand is set to GMT 0. I just move the Bezel + or - to finding

out what time it is in other time zones. Whenever I am off on vacation I just set the hour hand where ever I am at and the 24 hr hand

stays on GMT 0. This way I just move the bezel to GMT -7 to tell what time it is at home for me. This way it makes telling second

timezones alot easier.

I use it all the time. It's one of the main reasons I bought the watch, besides the fact it looks amd feels good.

I'm on assignment in the UK from Vancouver so I bought a GMT specifically so that I can track PST on the bezel using the 24 hour hand while reading the local time (GMT as it happens) using the normal hands.

If and when I get back to Canada I'll probably set the bezel back to zero and use the 24 hour hand for reading 24 hour time - still a useful function for me since my industry uses the 24 hour clock.

I use mine the same as Larry.

When at home I'll rotate the bezel to the timezone of interest. In this case it's Guam.

The 24 hour hand tracks time in Shanghai, China (not sure what time zone). I have many suppliers located in this region and like to keep track. I travel about once every six weeks.

it was when i was on holiday but now i have it set to the 24 hour time of home in the UK which is also the regular watch time. It takes a little fiddling to get this so the triangle is set against the 12 o clock. When i want to change it for going away again i will just rotate the bezel.

This is kind of like the question about, whether or not you dive with your Submariner. Yes to the GMT and Yes to the Sub, but not as often as I would like. I do have a friend in Kuala Lumpor, maybe I should set it to track his time, but I usually just synch it with my time, EST, when not travelling.

I have to admit that I only use the GMT function when I am overseas. Otherwise, I have it syncronised to local 24 hour time.
Nevertheless I really love the GMT function, it is soo cool

I always keep my 24 hour hand perfectly aligned with the current time in my time zone. It seems like such a pain to me to adjust it an hour here or there. Obviously, it woould come in more handy if I were traveling internationally. The 24 hr hand to me has more of an aesthetic function than a practical function.

I travel all the time and use the 24 hour hand to track home time and the main hands to track local time. When I am not traveling I have the 24 hour hand set to Hawaii as it is where my family is, and where I do most of my scuba diving. that way when I look at the time it reminds me of my favorite place.

I definitely use the watch to track two time zones. I work in the CA branch of a New York firm. I frequently have to arrange calls with colleagues in NY, so I track NY time with the GMT hand.

I like to use the bezel to keep track of the second time zone -- i.e., I set the GMT hand to CA time when the bezel triangle is aligned with the 12 o'clock position on the dial. I then roate the bezel until the dot representing 3 is aligned with the 12 o'clock position. In this position, the GMT hand points to NYC time on the bezel and the hour hand points to CA time on the dial.

I do this because I can then quickly rotate the bezel to a third time zone. In my case, London, because I also have colleagues there.

It's nice to be able to see the other time zones at a glance.

If I actually travel to another time zone, I change the hour hand to local time and use the GMT hand to track time in CA.
