A little Feedback.
Hello everyone.
Currently my collection is down to a Rolex GMT II C, Panerai 392, and a few knock around watches. When I purchased the Pam I moved my DJ that I wore all the time. As I mentioned in another thread I now find myself wearing my knock around more than anything else. I feel that the GMT is a little too dressy with the PCL's and the Bezel (some people think I'm crazy for that comment). I really want something in the Rolex line that I can use for all occasions. That leads me to needing help deciding. I'm turning my GMT and getting a SS Daytona in either black or white, haven't decided yet. Now I also want to get something that I can use for an everyday knock around. Thinking either the Explorer I 39mm or the Sub No Date. Please take a look at the picture and let me know your thoughts. Also thoughts on which color Daytona. With my skin color I was leaning towards the white dial but I've always loved and wanted the black. AHHH!!! So indecisive. Thanks in advance. |

Both are nice, but for me, the 114060 is the clear winner.

The Sub more or less similar to the GMT. For all around use and not too noticeable, I would choose the 39mm Explorer.

My BLNR gets used for everything and it's got the scratches and dings to prove it, just like all my watches, Rolex and otherwise. If you really desire an SS Daytona, go for it, but take sometime to consider which dial will be the most legible in a wide range of lighting conditions. A chronograph you can't read is worthless as far as I'm concerned and that's the main reason I'll never own a Daytona. The other reason is that I won't be buying any precious metal Rolex watches in this lifetime.

Either one is great, I have both and the Explorer gets my vote by a slight margin. It's a bit more versatile and less noticeable. As for the Daytona, I'm moving away from black dial watches.

114060 for me, that's easy though as I am firmly in the 36mm only Explorer camp

White dial Daytona because your wife will probably prefer it over black. (Must keep her happy or watch buying becomes a hassle). And a sub.
Get neither of those. BLRO ftw! |

I would want a watch with a date function. So I recommend SubC with date and SS Daytona. If the Sub has a dark face, get a Daytona with a white face. Have your two Rolexes look completely different. IMO.
PS: Don't worry about scratches, all watches get them, it does not make them look bad. |
