Chances of finding Polar Exp at AD? And Torneau display

Been thinking of adding a second watch. Would love a Batman but I know that’s impossible at AD. What are the chances of landing a Polar Explorer at retail?

Secondly….I popped into Torneau to chat. I was 5th in line and didn’t want to wait. But their display was crazy for today’s world. Another AD told me they’re told to put a lot in the display but not sell. Are we in the twilight zone?

They are all display watches
They do not work. They are dummies to show for size, style etc

I like the idea of seeing display pieces. Makes for a fun day of seeing some beautiful watches.

I love how, a year or so ago, all but the Sub ND would have just sat and sat and sat as display watches you could buy but wouldn’t sell quickly.

However I’m now seeing a new strategy: use the displays specifically to create demand for tier 2-3 watches.

Is that Tourneau in KofP? I've been begging them and my AD in Exton for a TT Blusey.

KOP it is. I got lucky and found my TT Bluesy in October. Old version but with new card dated October.

Best of luck finding it!

Definitely display watches, all set to 10:10.

KOP Tourneau is great, went there once about a year ago on a lunch stop for a road trip and got offered a Blue fluted DJ 41 as a walk in. I’m sure those days are long gone.

All Rolex watches are desirable and in high demand.

The unique opportunity to purchase any of them @ retail is a special occurrence!!

Right. At the moment at least. But notice that the display included no "tier-1" models (Panda, Pepsi, Cermit).

pretty interesting that AD is willing to tell you that you are 5th in line. Unlike my country.

Lol, that would have been a sad state of affairs in 1998. Would see multiple GMT, subs, daytonas, DJ, now just cut outs lol

Hard to believe the Rolex strategy. New strategy:Make enough watches, sell them.

I guess this means the store remodel is complete.

According to an SA I spoke to over the phone they haven't seen a DJ41 in months. I'm she was lying through her teeth though.

Makes me wonder...What else do their VIPs buy? It's not like they can peddle tons of jewelry. They certainly don't sell PP or AP...And the Omega boutique is across the hall...literally.

That's the way this KoP Tourneau SAs operate. Unless you walk in flashing cash or a high end watch... good luck getting any attention.

Perhaps there are no REAL watches available because Rolex is so busy making "non-functional display models?"

Yes, she’s a liar. If they are an AD they are are absolutely getting DJs. Might not be the size or dial you want, but they are getting them.

I’m surprised these watches don’t have movements as some of them (sky, Daytona, gmt) are really impressive to see work in person. Sad that the buying experience just isn’t as interactive as it once was.
