I finally got a call….

I place my name for a Daytona in ….. 2014, the AD said to me at that time it’ll take a few years. A couple of years later I added my name for a Sub. And then in 2019 I “expressed my wish” (as they said the time) for a Batman.
Fast forward 10 year and I just had a call for a beautiful Datejust bi-tone fluted bezel ….. it’s mine if I wanted and they generously gave me 48 hours to decide, no pressure ….
I never expressed any interest in a Datejust, nor in any bi-tone.
These guys probably think we are still in 2020, or just think customers don’t know the market situation.
I politely declined and asked if they could call me for a Daytona, I think I will wait another decade for that.
Anyone had the same experience?

I finally got a call….

I’m still on the waiting list to get on “the waitlist”. Put in my application and had my interview in March of 2018.

Any day now!

Over the past decade that sort of “miscall” has been reported regularly.

Did they confirm you are on the list for the Daytona?

Texted the SA I purchased my wife’s YM37 from about a CPO 116710BLNR they have for sale….she won’t even text me back when I ask to buy a grossly over priced watch. It’s pretty disappointing.

What's with the trend of not texting back? I messaged the SA when I found myself in the area, asking if I could drop by within an hour or so, but I received no response. Later, as I walked by Rolex on my way to another watch boutique in the mall, I saw him sitting there on his phone. That was months ago, and I still haven't received a text back. At first, I went through everything and anything that I could have said or done the last time we spoke—maybe I said something wrong or offensive—but found nothing. Completely unprofessional, but whatever. It’s their loss.

Thanks for letting me vent

Agree have you ever bought a watch from them? I would not expect them to offer you a Daytona as a first watch no matter how long you wait.

Sub I could see.

Have you gone in regularly to talk to them or just checked in those three times?

If I buy stuff for my girlfriend (rings, earrings, etc.), I get a watch a few months later.

If I don’t buy anything … crickets.

I’d just be buying what I like not what they are trying to sell. And after an extended period of time of waiting for your ideal reference if the AD doesn’t play ball just go grey

Congrats on finally getting a call. Maybe ask them if there are any diamond covered ladies watches you can take off their hands, to build the relationship

Ten years for a two tone datejust….. good thing they were “generous” enough to give you 48 hours to decide…. Hate to break it to you but it sounds like the Daytona call isn’t coming. Not in this lifetime at least.

Each time I go into Bucherer/Tourneau they put my name and wants on a piece of paper. When I leave they wrap this paper to the toilet paper holder in the bathroom.

Vent away, feel the same way. It’s all good. The SA’s surely lurk on this forum and they are laughing their a$$ off.

To borrow a phrase from the youths (yoots, Vinny) of today, try not to simp on the SAs. They're human beings with hundreds of grown men texting them about a watch. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simp They don't text you back? Fine. Go into the store & talk to someone new. Still no watch, but still really want it? You know where else to get it.

To be honest no, so I am clearly not one of their best customers, but I did put multiple watches to service with them.
So it´s not that I never had any business with them.

I know someone who has approx $30k spend history in Rolex, and just spent another $30k in engagement jewelry, in the past 24 months, and was just this week denied access to the waitlist for the Daytona.

Pretty difficult getting a Daytona for the first time with them. Another decade might not be enough.

For ADs that service high net worth areas a $250k spend history that includes jewelry purchases is the start point for consideration for a steel Daytona.

At least they still have your phone number after so many years...

I put my name on the list for a green sub more than 3 years ago and now they just said it is not likely to happen in the next 2 years. I bought many watches from them before the whole hype started but still not receiving it.
