Needed thoughts about wearing Day Date

Hi Everyone in the forum.

Needed thoughts of people who are wearing Day Date.

Bought one of 2/14 - when i tried it on at the AD it felt very snug so asked him to add a link. After adding the link it felt a bit floppy so went ahead without the link.

It the morning it wears fine and i can insert a finger under the bracelet but around evening time it feels really snug and is stuck against my wrist.

I am sure there would be a few others like me on here who are is a similar size situation.

Wanted thoughts on what feels comfortable in the long run (planning to wear it as a daily)- wearing is very snug against the wrist or adding that extra link and having it a bit floppy.

Try ordering the 1.5 link for a better fit.

An ability to easily adjust the DayDate bracelet would be nice. Glidelock obviously wouldn’t be appropriate but maybe they’ll eventually add something similar to Easylink to the President bracelet.

Apologies for sounding ignorant but can you please advice a bit more what exactly is a 1.5 link.

"I would like to order a 1.5 (one and half) link for my DD". Its just a link that 1.5x the normal link size, and hence will likely fix your issue

Got it now - thanks. So basically i get the 1.5 x link and replace one of the existing links.

Looks like a good idea.

Are these available off the shelf with the AD or need to be specially ordered.

They don't make a 1.5 link but do make a 1.25 link. You would be surprised how much that helps as I have same situation with DD’s. Your AD can order for you.

It would be nice, but I can't think of a way that could work as the president bracelet has the hidden clasp and the links aren't flat.

as others mentioned, it's a 1.25 link and it does help a lot. you just tell your AD and they can order one, or you can go straight to RSC. i had to get one as well because i was in between sizes but just know it's gonna run you like $1000

Just be patient and figure out what works for you. I was lucky enough that mine fit perfect with all links right out of the box, but that is definitely not everyone’s experience. Ultimately though, in my opinion, once it’s sized right the president bracelet is one of the most comfortable out there.

As others have suggested, try to get the 1.25 link.
FWIW, I like to err on it being a little loose v. a little tight.

I have the same problem with my DD40 and I have ordered a 1/2 link. Price is 1,050. Stiff for such a small piece.

I added two 1.25 links to the original. Love wearing it floppy and have an 8" wrist.

Your AD can order and yes they aren't cheap. Hopefully you didn't get a platinum DD haha.

Congratulations! 1.25 link is your best bet. I'd say wear it and get used to it before you buy the smaller link.

Where are you located? Fluctuating wrist size is possible due to temperature changes and slight change will make change to your DD.

I have a DD in YG and it is tight during hot days, I thought of going with 1.25 link but have not done as of yet. My Datejust does not have that problem.

Before you order expensive link try and see the temp effect and see if it has anything to do with it.

I had the same issue. I initially decided not to buy the DD40 because, after sizing it to what I thought was the closest fit, it was slightly too tight. Then I talked to a friend who said, "Just reinstall a link so it's loose and leave it alone for a bit. You'll see."

He was right. Very easy for me to get used to loose, but tight is physically uncomfortable.

Ultimately I didn't even end up getting a 1-1/4 link (which cost something like $1700) because I started to appreciate the loose feel. It was a bit of a change from other watches, not in a bad way and not at all uncomfortable.

i've been wearing a DD mostly all the time and I just live with a little slop sometimes and a little snug at other times no big deal to me anyway. Save $ and give it some time.

You've spent a lot of money for your DD. In the overall scheme of things, an extra $1000 is not that much considering how much you paid for the watch. If not 100% comfortable with the way it is, order the 1.25. It would suck to have such a nice watch that makes you uncomfortable whenever you wear it - especially since you plan to daily it.

Wear it a little loose like a bracelet. You will get used to it.

For the longevity of the bracelet (in terms of avoiding “stretch”), wearing it a little bit snug is better than a little loose. If it’s doesn’t get uncomfortably tight, I’d say leave it be.

If it does become uncomfortably snug, before adding a 1.25 link, you might want to try shifting a link or two from the 12 side of the bracelet to the 6 side - This can make a surprising difference in how it fits.

I agree with this! My DD fits loose in the morning so I wear it a little higher and if it starts to feel snug I’ll slide it down a bit on my wrist.

Curious to know how everyone stores theirs to prevent stretch. I just got a watch stand for my birthday and I’m wondering if it’s a bad idea to store my DD on it when I’m not wearing it,

Mine is stored in a wolf winder.

I thought the DD40 had ceramic sleeves in the bracelet to prevent stretch? I think it came out with the platinum before but trickled down to all models?

So the 2 day wearing experience was at vegas. Back in NJ and the watch fits just right with a teeny play.
Never knew my wrist behaves so diff at diff temp .
Will wear it as is for now and see what happens when summer arrives.
Also the regular link was 600 usd, the 1.25 link is a stright jump to 1k?
