What would you add to the collection ?
Collection currently consists of: Submariner ref 124060 Submariner Date 126610LV Mk2 DJ41 126334 white dial GMT Master II 126710BLNR OP36 126000 green dial IWC Portofino stainless steel silver dial Tudor Prince Date Chronograph slate dial If you could add anything, what would it be ? I am mainly looking into Daytonas as that is the model which got me into watches. I am considering a 126500LN black dial, 116500LN white dial, 126519LN silver dial or 126509 black dial. Would like to get some thoughts and ideas not limited to Rolex though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

A Daytona to stay in the Rolex line and Panerai to give you a hero strap watch.

A SS Daytona or a SS Sky-Dweller would work.

I think you need a little color...YG or RG Daytona on OF.

PM or SS Skydweller maybe.
Otherwise, explore another brand - VC, AP, PAM, JLC, AL&S... |

Have very little experience with Panerai. I don‘t have particularly large wrists ~6.75-7in so a bit worried about size. Any particular model you‘d recommend ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Sell the IWC and add a Speedmaster of some sort.

Considering the WG Daytona on either OF or bracelet. I am a fan of the ceramic bezel but keep thinking that it‘s way overpriced on OF also I wouldn‘t be able to add a bracelet later whereas I can put the bracelet version on an aftermarket rubber strap… Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

You won't hear it enough on this forum, but for the love of all that is good in this world: Speedmaster professional. It's classy and surprisingly dressy on a bracelet, but also the absolute weekend watch on a brown leather strap.
Again, I'll get some Flack for this, but your collection runs the risk of what so many here have in being too Rolex. Don't get me wrong, I love Rolex and your collection is enviable. But I actually like it more because of your IWC and Tudor. Gives of more variety and let's you have more fun to choose from each day imo. Get a Speedie. Honestly, it's lovely. And if you can afford it, try the Ed White. Trust me, thickness won't bother you as the case is so different in design to Rolex, and it's just so stunning. A runner up - Tudor black bay 54. That might actually be my favorite watch on wrist once you can look past the name on the dial.20240113_232457.jpg20230830_173112.jpg Sent from my SM-S916W using Tapatalk |

Here are some ideas from left field ….
- a Seiko SLAO43J or SLA049J if you prefer a Willard style watch - a Grand Seiko SLGT005 - if you have the cash to splash - a Ressence type 3 - pair with black skivvy and thick glasses |

Really appreciate this post and I agree with you. The Speedmaster 321 is a beautiful watch. Have had a BB58 in blue but decided to give it to my mum as it wasn‘t getting a lot of wrist time. Will give the BB54 a go as well as the BB58 GMT. Thanks of the input - don‘t see any reason why you should get flack for this. Great post! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Any experience with any of these models ? Really like the Ingenieur in titanium… Big fan of the RO and the Ingenieur but am a bit reluctant due to pricing. The RO is also definitely a challenge to get (in addition to he pricetag being quite hefty) and the Ingenieur seems very pricey given its movement can also be found in ~£2-3k watches. Since you are still in collection building phase I would add an AP Royal Oak chronograph or if it has to be Rolex a Daytona.

Unfortunately, there isn't a boutique/AD near me to try one on. It's pricey for what it is, but I wasn't put off by that. It looks class in my eyes and I do think it'll be my next piece, providing I don't get a call for a GRNR in the meantime. Sent from my Pixel 6 using Tapatalk |

I have been looking at 16710 with blue and red bezels lately. Which way would you suggest I go? 1) Used in good condition and get it serviced/restored immediately 2) Pay the premium for a NOS version ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I‘m just not sure I can pull it off - am very much a white metal guy. Especially when it comes to wearing this to work I am a bit apprehensive as RG and YG are - in my opinion - a bit more flashy. They are good looking watches no question but I think it wouldn‘t fly in the office if I was wearing a YG/RG Daytona. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Personally, I’d go either white dial professional or the new FOIS.

I would go Daytona, but if getting one is impossible, I would go with a YM 40.
It has a very similar case as the Daytona, is beautiful and underrated, and the most comfortable of the Rolex watches that I own. |

I’d go for a yellow gold Daytona. A different colour metal is needed

Something with Rose Gold. Maybe a Root beer CHNR, Daytona 515 on oysterflex, yachtmaster RG on OF.
Looks like it would add some nice PM shades |
