SBGX355 "Snowflake Quartz"
New Grand Seiko SBGX355 "Snowflake Quartz"!
37.0mm (diameter) × 44.6mm (lug-to-lug) × 10.6mm (thickness); Ti 9F62 movement (quartz, nine jewels, approx. three-year battery life, ±10 seconds accuracy per year) €4,200 (a bit pricey, but quite nice, IMHO) (more info) |

Hmm, it's a 9F62. The 9F85 is similar, but allows for the hour to be adjusted without stopping the seconds. Which movement is the "super quartz" and what's the difference? As for price, the only other two 9F62s effectively have prices of €2,400, so, for €1,800, I guess one is paying for a nicer bracelet, titanium and the "Snowflake" dial. Don't know if that's "worth it", but it is what it is. 9F85s have prices ranging from €2,800 to €3,500.... |

Very nice! I’m a big fan of the snowflake! Bought my daughter one, in fact. The spring drive version.

This looks like a must buy. I’ve been tempted by a midsize watch for some time, always want a gs quartz and love titanium. Last time I tried the 211 on, I found it every so slightly dated and I think this looks a bit more contemporary. I’d imagine it will be available with a decent discount too. So this year, it’s this and a mistflake. |

The Grand Seiko and Seiko quartz watches are a hidden value especially in the pre-owned market. I have several and it is a nice go to when you don't want to or have time to set an automatic watch.

Topper Jewelry in Northern California has a used SBGT 241, with all papers and one year warranty for $2,700, a very good value.

My regular 9F (SBGT235) only gained a total of 2 secs last year, and the year before that.

Here’s a video showing a side by side of the new SBGX355 37mm 9F Snowflake compared to the traditional SBGA211 41mm. I really like the new one, the proportions are excellent.
