My first rolex watch...

Finally, I got my first rolex watches.
I had been waited to get my first rolex watch almost a year.
I want to get a sub for my first rolex watch but however the demand was very high and it is difficult to get without any purchase history from AD. I do not want to purchase from grey market or even reseller. Reason was because we do not know how authentic is it. Recently, I changed my mind instead of waiting for sub I look for Yacht Master which is not so high demand and also look for other AD to get the watch.

And my dream come true. However, there is a mixed feeling when I got the news that there is Yacht Master stock for me. On the same day early morning my closest aunt had passed away and during afternoon I received a msg from my SA that there is a yacht master for me. I was happy and sad at the same time. I did not make the purchase immediately. I asked my SA if she can keep for me for 5 days after I will come down to purchase. She is willing to wait for me. It is so nice of her.

This is my first waist shot. Indeed it is really beautiful piece, and I believe that this piece will be high in demand in near furture.

How long was the wait for YM

Why never consider opt for grey?

Condolences on the passing of your aunt.
Congratulations on your first Rolex.
The YM is beautiful watch, and very comfortable to wear.
I have the same model as you, also with the blue dial.
Enjoy wearing it and take care of it.

Very sorry for the circumstances, but at a bare minimum your new purchase will carry an additional meaning with it as long as you have it. I'm waiting on a Rhodium dial YM that will commemorate my first Father's Day (just a tad late)...happy or sad, I think it's that much more special when a watch can mark a point in time for you.

And that blue dial is a great look...in my opinion you way outkicked the current Sub models. I'd suggest finding an older model Sub to complement the new YM, but that's my longer-term goal, so I'm clearly biased!

Best wishes for your whole family.

Lesser than 2 wks. Hmmm the AD do have grey 37mm yacht master. When compare blue dial look more outstanding.

At first I do like the grey over the blue at first sight. But subsequently, blue dial look better to me. Just my own feel.

How long u have been waiting? This watch mark a point to me.
I planning to get a GMT rootbeer for my next rolex watch. As I think I will just forgo sub as the feature is quite similar to yacht master.

yesterday I walked into an AD and they had this one in the case. But with the price increase it was $12K plus tax.. I turned it down

Only a few weeks, and when I first went in nothing was being shipped out of Rolex NYC. My AD has just started seeing things moving again, so hoping it's not much longer, though it's no real hurry to me...got an old(er) school 16622 to help me kill the time, anyway!

GMT is a good call over the Sub for the exact meason you mentioned; some people just can't NOT have a Sub, and in that case I prefer the older models to the new. I've got a 16570 that technically checks the GMT box when needed, but it'd be cool to ultimately snag a Pepsi someday (though I'm not convinced I'd go newer case size there, either).
