Rolex leather strap for Day-Date

Is it possible to buy an original leather strap for my Day-Date? It has the YG president bracelet but I feel this is a little 'loud' sometimes, and I would like to tone it down with a leather strap.
I prefer to have the original Rolex strap though.
I have used the FSE and can't find any for sale.
Any advice would be welcome.

There are many high-quality after-market straps that will more likely do well with your watch. Consider that some straps may only be compatible with deployant buckles, so make sure you have the compatibility issue resolved based on your buckle choice. Rubber B has a few options if your tastes run that direction. A search in Google images may entice you to take a different course.

I had to buy a replacement strap for my 116139 (DJ36) which came stock with a leather strap with Rolex deployant buckle.

Couldn't find a third party one that worked with the deployant buckle, so I had Ben Bridge order one directly from Rolex. Cost: $370.

Yes, thanks. I really would like to buy an original. Just not sure if Rolex would supply it.

I almost bought one of the last DayDates offered on strap a few years back. Getting that buckle would be the hard part, I can’t remember if it was a tang or deployant clasp.
I would contact Aaron Bespoke for both a custom strap and to see your buckle options.

Then an alternate watch (Sub?) may be the way to go

If you really MUST do this, I’d suggest that custom is the way forward as you’ll get a perfect fit and if you go to the right place you will have a vast selection of options. Personally I’d recommend ABP Concepts for some truly superb leather options or somewhere like Camille Fournet who make the OEM straps for Patek.

I’d second Camille Fournet the colours and choice on their website is amazing

Please don’t put a day date on a leather strap.

One of the best features of the day date is the bracelet. It’s a heavy hitter and putting it on leather would really be doing the watch a disservice in my opinion

I'd love to own a good condition vintage gold Day Date on a nice brown leather strap. Either a linen or champagne dial or something similar. I would likely not convert a modern piece to leather though.

I agree!

Also, Rolex doesn’t consider it sacrilege - They offered 4 DDs (two 118138s in green and cognac, and two 118139s in red and blue) on matching strap only, which won’t even accept a President bracelet.

Perhaps a different interpretation of "Hell Bent for Leather"
