Question about timing of service overhaul

I have a piece that needs an overhaul... to get it running again. My wife wants to have the service done as a Christmas present, but not an early one. With all the chatter about Rolex raising prices, I might assume that means that the cost of servicing will rise in tandem? If this is the case, I'd want to get this watch serviced sooner than later. Any opinions on this one? Yes, I'd love to get this watch repaired and back in circulation, but I can wait to make the Mrs. happy if we won't get socked in the bank account just to make a present timely.
