More than one AD

Do many of you guys have more than one AD? My previous retail outlet lost their AD status, so visited 2 different ADs. Put my name on the list for a 126713 GRNR in one store, and was told it could up to a year. In the mean time I visited a second AD in a different city, and inquired about a 126710 BLNR on a JB, and was virtually laughed out of the store. 48 hours later, the second AD calls me and offers a 124633 with a champagne dial. I say sure, since in a year I'll have built up the bank account. Well, 7 weeks later the first AD calls and says she has my 126713 GRNR! Anyone else with a similar experience?

That sounds like it worked out well. Watches are coming in weekly and someone has to buy them, might as well be you. Enjoy them!

At that point, I'd quit buying and enjoy what you have acquired!!!! That is a wonderful 2 watch set.
Enjoy!

To answer the OP's question, I kind of gave up on my AD and went to the other AD location in town. Same company, different location and SA. In 4-5 weeks I had the blue dial 126300 jubilee on my wrist.

Pro-tip: Never ask for more than you are ready to buy.

I’d buy ‘em both and sort out the financial carnage before I requested anything else.

Welcome to the forum.

No. I don't ask for a watch until I have the funds ring fenced. I'm sure ADs get this from time time. They will sell it to someone else with little effort.

Only buy what you can afford and what sings to you.

I typically only ask for and buy what I plan to keep in the collection, though I do visit different ADs and have bought from various retailers in the past

My experience with AD’s in the UK is that many won’t entertain taking your contact details if you live in a different city. At least I found that with WoS

That’s what I said too. But do you get their loyalty is the question… Rolex watches sell themselves. Keep all avenues open at all times.

I’ve purchased watches from 4 different local AD’s, and continue to express interest in future watches with all four.

I have actually purchased from five different AD’s but two of them mostly. They both have been very good to me in different ways. In fact recently one called me with a new mkii green sub and the very next day the other called me with a nd sub. Of course i bought them both. I’m hoping the other three call me with something else soon. Oh I almost forgot I’m on the list for some of the harder to get omegas and patek references too. Eventually they will come through.

Here in Spain the situation is as everywhere, so when I'd started to chase for a Rolex I had all the luck of purchasing a DJ Wimbledon dial in my first visit ever to an AD.
After that I went through all the AD's in my city registering my interest in a GMT and in the Air-King, including the AD that sold me the DJ. Some of them told me the typical bullshit, some of them registered my interest and the AD that sold me the DJ was superkind and took note of various models I would love.
Four months later, a second AD call me for the AK. As a courtesy I went to the first AD, told them that I had the call from another AD and wanted to check if they could sell it to me. They were very kind and direct telling me not to worry about not purchasing for them, and if an opportunity came from other AD to catch it directly. I said thanks and invite them to remove my interest in the AK since I was going straight to the other AD to purchase it. That was on Friday afternoon. Funny thing is that after purchasing the AK, they called me back on Monday afternoon, telling me that my AK has arrived (it was a different SA than the one I spoke to on Friday). I explained her the situation and all good.
Always like to be frank and open with all the AD's.
After that, I was hesitant that first AD will ever call me for other watches. Since then I did regular visits to both AD's looking for the GMT.
The first AD called me a week ago telling me that a GMT BLNR on jubilee was there with my name if I want it. Four hours after I was there paying the watch and picking it up the very next day.
Lessons learned from my experience working with different AD's: be frank, be open, purchase at the first option you have and if your expression of interest for that watch is in other AD's, go to them and remove it.
You will look like a serious buyer and they will keep the relationship with you.

This is apparently where we are now. A friend of mine got the call for a Wimbledon from 2 ADs within a 24 hour time span. The ADs. are about 50 miles apart.
