Rolex Guarantee

Hello friends

Looking for some info on the 5 year guarantee and if anyone has been in a situation were the guarantee has been a fight with Rolex to honour?

If the watch bracelet has a chunk out of it from a grinder or the crystal has a nail thro it then I can understand so dont try and say its faulty you've abused it, but what about watch has stopped completely and no real damage and just wear and tear on bracelet ?

Are Rolex honourable with the guarantee or should I be prepared to be stung by unexpected charges?

Thanks

Dave

The warranty is for manufacturing defects.

Rolex can usually tell if the reason for a faulty watch has been given a hard knock or if something inside came loose.

Like any warranty, the manufacturer typically has the last say on if your issue, which you do not describe, is because of a manufacturing defect.

If the watch stops running within the warranty period it will be repaired under warranty unless Rolex says the problem is a result of damage to the movement or the movement was tampered with by a third party. Watches are supposed to work during the warranty period. The Manufacturer assumes this risk with their warranty.

I have used their warranty two times on two different watches and both times RSC inspected the watch at intake for obvious signs of abuse. Mine had normal hairline marks on bracelet and clasp. They mark the condition on the intake form and honored the warranty on both occasions.

Forgot to mention that this RSC was inhouse at an AD. I didn’t purchase the watches from that AD.

My actual experience-
They claimed it had been dropped, impact damage or something of the sort (it hadn't).
They repaired it under goodwill warranty w/o charge.

No issues, ever, with Rolex and the warranties on the watches.
