New or birth year?

If you had the choice would you buy a new say sub or a vintage birth year one?

Can't answer that one. The sub came out after I did.

If you can get it, go for your birth year.

As mentioned already in another thread I went birth year
Luckily I'm old enough to get this.
I doubt I'll be saying that in another 20 years though

I find it's easier to lie about my birth year. I tell anyone who asks that my 1978 5513 sub is from my birth year. Which makes me pushing 31 now.

I have been thinking the same lately. I think I will go for a birth year GMT. Already have a Sub.

Birth year for me!

I am in the hunt for a birth year Sub and it takes patience.

The only new or newer Sub I will buy are the LV and the possible introduction of the new Sub at this year's or next year's Basel.

With my birth year (1947) I went a little crazy.
I bought an Omega, Rolex, Patek, Baume & Mercier, Leonidas, Doxa and some 15
other lesser known "dead" design wise wristwatches.
A nice vintage collection is nice, also one or two from your birth year.
After that concetrate your efforts into current and beautifull watches.

Couldn't agree more, although my vintage is a daily beater and stands up to anything. Just don't be afraid to use it1

If I was going to go looking for one I would have a birth year, freely availible and you want it straight away. New (but I would have a birth year later!!)

Si

Taking 5 mins from the party
