Icon10 My first Rolex

Hi everyone,
Here are a couple of pics of my first Rolex, a GMT-MASTER II. 16710
My wife bought it for me for Christmas. Unfortunately I can't
have until than. She did though take me in to get the watch
so I was able to experience the thrill and excitement of finally
getting my first Rolex. What a great feeling it is to have such
a beautiful watch. This is my first post, I hope I did okay.

It is torture!!!!But at least she let me take it out to take some
pics. Sadly though I had to put it back in its box. Maybe I can
talk her into letting me look at it a few times between now and Christmas.

Welcome to TRF. Beautiful watch. You will enjoy it (once you get to start wearing it for real ).

And a big welcome to the 4 hand club. If you do any kind of travelling you will come to rely on that watch a lot.

Anthony,
How long have you had your watch? Any pointers on how you take care of it besides the 5 year maintenance etc...Everytime
I looked at the Rolexes I always admired the GMT so it wasn't too hard to choose when I finally got the thumbs up from the wife.

I been in the Rolex ownership for more than 10 years and I pick up my next one in February. You can never have too much of a good thing.

Authier,
That's a nice starter Rolex. Got my GMT II just about 1 year ago. It's a great watch.
Welcome to the 4 hand club.

Hey Authier,
I've had this baby for a whole month now. I couldn't be happier, this watch has always caught my eye. This is one tough watch. I like to wear it to the shower, which cleans it off well. If not, I atleast try to run it under some warm water and mild hand soap, just to keep the dirt, dust, and grim from piling up. Once a week I take a soft toothbrush with soap and water and gently go over it, especially around the bezel and bracelet. Thats pretty much it. Feel free to PM me if you ever want to discuss anymore issues with our watches.

take care
Anthony

Well, I just upgrade from four hand to six hand last week. Last week, Just received my Daytona SS with black dail from a dealer in Waikiki, HI. But, I will keep my GMT-MASTER II SS black/red for ever. I will keep my new watch for my son who will be 4 next month. Daytona may be my dream watch. But, my beloved GMT which I have had more than nine years will alway be my fravorite watch to wear every day.

Well, since I already got the black dail now I am still in line to get the white one..........

Fancy dinner might get that box open faster

Congrats on the "gift" and having a wife who allows such luxuries!

If you make reservations at Briarwood or Flagstaff for a special "holiday dinner" to say thanks, maybe she'll let you wear it early!
