Replacing a 1601 dial
Hey all, I'm getting ready to receive a 1601 that was my grandpa's watch. At some point, he replaced the dial and I'm wanting to swap that dial out for a different dial myself. A question I can't seem to find the answer to is do I have to get a dial that's specifically made for a 1601 or could I use a 16013 dial?

You need a dial for the correct movement. Either an original or service 16xx dial.

As Dan said, the 160XX versions won't fit. You could get a 1603 dial or 1600 dial which will work in theory.
Post a pic of the current dial. There are some more collectible ones out there so we can advise if you should replace or not - putting aside personal preference. |

You need to stay with a 4 digit pie pan dial. The 5 digit dials are for a different movement and are flat.
This site has always had good stuff but check condition. The price will usually reflect rarity and condition. https://www.firstclassdials.com/sear...prefix%5D=last

Really appreciate the help all! There's currently a white dial on it from what my dad told me, but I've always wanted a two tone with a champagne dial. Just love that look, a secondary choice was blue just because I love the way the two tone with a blue dial looks both on the actual bracelet as well as a brown leather band.

That would make your grandpa's watch into a true grandpa-watch.
