16622 Yachtmaster Dial Variations

For years I hated the Yachtmaster 16622. I thought it was just too bland.
But about for our 5 years ago, it started to grow on me.
Unfortunately I had passed 20 years of being able to buy them for $4 to $4.5k.
The seemed to top out at $11,000 and I wasn't going to touch them at that price.
But they started dropping and I was able to get a very clean example for $7.5k

Question is there seems to be 3 variations of the dial.
I am wondering if these came out in different years, or if they are just variations in the quality of the dial.

Judging from photos on Chrono24, it appears the first few years the dial seemed to have a very pronounce metallic flake in the dial.
Then in 2001/2002/2003 the dials seem very flat and has no sparkle to it.
Then 2004 there is a smaller metallic flake.

Going forward from there, some years seem to have the very flat dial others have the smaller metallic flake.

I would mark it down to photos, but I have seen the difference in the dials in person as well.

Here is an example of what I am calling the flat dial:

Is anyone really familiar with these dials, and knows what is going on?
I can't seem to find anything by doing searches.

I have owned and like this watch. For the right price I will buy another if I come across one.

I have one from 2003 (probably a 2002 production year). The dial is just like yours with very pronounced sparkles. The newer ones seemed to have flatter dials.

Sorry, but I don't know how to download the pictures.
I'll try again later.

I have a program that I can attach photos to, then when I export them back the are small enough to fit the parameter allowed by TRF.

Previously I had to attach them through Reddit
