Would you sell your Rolex Box

Just wondering if there is a market for Rolex Box's. If so would you sell yours? Some high end watches come in extravagant boxes, I have sometimes thought about if I could just get that box. Amazing quality and workmanship. Not so much with others but ie Rolex has a lot of people that collect all things Rolex. Is there a market and how much for example a Day Date Platinum box vs a date just box vs....???

I have seen lots of fakes.

Dealers buy them all the time to sell with naked or incomplete watches. I think the normal size with the white sleeve is around $150. I would never break up a full set for a little bit of money

Boxes are a dime a dozen. It's one thing if you've got the space for them, but another entirely if you don't/aren't thinking about selling your watch.

Yes - they sell for a few hundred bucks!

Well some are willing to pay for Rolex boxes, plastic stickers, bezel protectors so called coffin plastic boxes god know why.The normal green Rolex watch boxes made in there countless millions world wide got to be one of the worst boxes that the so called high end boxes come in. Mine are up in the attic somewhere but would not think on selling any of them and most certainly would not pay money for any of them.

I really don’t see why anyone would sell the box even though it’s probably tucked away in a drawer somewhere

No. Not because the boxes are of a particularly high quality (they're not), but because I keep boxes for expensive/luxury goods. Omega supply boxes that put Rolex to shame, although they are way bigger than necessary.

I can’t answer your questions but I have all my boxes put away and I guess some day my sons will find them and link them to the correct watches. So, hell no I wouldn’t sell any of my boxes but I’m sure somebody will?!

The only way I’d consider selling a box is with the watch in it

Despite Rolex boxes being comparably lame, I wouldn’t sell them. Extra 200$ per box doesn’t do much for me, while having complete set, does!

I have two boxes, which are sat there doing nothing. Would sell them, if anyone needs them.
One is a very big one from a gemset piece and one just a regular from a SS piece.

No. Will I have a Rolex "forever keeper", you just never know if I might trade it in the future. And I am not starving so I don't need $150.

I would not sell my boxes as they would not create enough money to offset the premium of having the box when it comes time to trade or sell.

I wouldn’t sell my box for $200 but I’d buy a no box/ no papers watch for 15% less which is about the value. I have so many boxes in a storage room that are useless to me, if I could save $6k on a naked $40k watch I would absolutely save the money.

Some of the comments on this post are embarrassing lol

It's a box, you see so many tell others 'it's just a watch' when they post about scratches etc but talk about selling a box and suddenly becomes more than just a watch ha ha

It's a box...

People won’t get rid of things now as they have seen true vintage complete sets go for silly money. Whether an equivalent say Sub, gmt etc end up going for the same kind of premium in 50 years remains to be seen (obviously!) and while I doubt it I would not take that chance for a few measly dollars now.
