Outbound - To Rolliworks

This is going to be a fun post. I’ve got a beautiful five digit Datejust 36 from 1987, my first Rolex, that I bought after closing my first apartment building deal as a young Commercial Real Estate Broker working in Los Angeles. I bought this brand new for $2600 from Ben Bridge in Canoga Park’s Topanga Plaza mall.

These are the photos of her just before packing it up and sending her off to be serviced. It’s going to take two months for the work to be done, and I’ll post the after-pictures when I get her back. Until then, follow along…

Here we go gang…

Looking forward to pics of the restoration.

Curious what you're having done (besides a polish and bracelet restoration).

Any laser welding?

Can’t wait to see the after pics. My wife’s 16233 is coming back in September. Her bracelet was bad, but not nearly as bad as yours.

Obviously, a well worn watch that’s seen it all! She was my daily for nearly 20 years before I expanded and bought a submariner. My collection has grown nicely since then, but this one has always found time on my wrist.

It still runs great and has never had service. Amazing watch. Rolli is doing it all, polish, bracelet and movement service. If they see anything worrisome, they’ll let me know.

Nice! I purchased a simiar Datejust in '83 as a milestone and had Rolliworks service a couple years ago. They do good work. Anxious to see how it comes back!

So great to see well worn watch, and no service too. I’m curious, anny idea how well it kept time recently?

She arrived in Miami. Looks like Rolli will have it in their hands on Monday.

I’ll post updates as I get them.
