The black dial and silver dial ones aren't bad. Can't say I'm crazy about the bronze case and bracelet and the color coded dial doesn't do it for me.

That bronze looking one is a "Rose Gold 18K Rubberclad Royal Oak Offshore".

The one with bright colors is a limited 100 Peices "Barrichello - Titanium Rubberclad Royal Oaks Offshore"

Sorry, Mark. RG just doesn't seem to be the right metal for an ROO.

It's a nice big picture, but I still think the RG doesn't look right on a ROO. Just MHO.

(Drools all over the keyboard)

The RG Rubberclad is my favourite. Classy while being sporty. My dream AP, but too expensive for me. The RB I is rather mediocre and uninspired, looks like they drew that one up in a minute or so. Otherwise, I'm not a big fan of the SS Rubberclads, I prefer the Themes with stell bezel, even though it scratches easier, the Rubebrclads somehow look "cheap" to me, but I would gladly take one if the price was right. The RG Rubberclad defies all rules of being cheap.

Thomas,

I see your selling the Easy Diver. You should consider putting your name in on a new AP Scuba or better yet the new LE AP Alinghi ROO. $5K holds a spot and your in line for a peice that will sell easily for 150% over retail after you've enjoyed it for awhile.

The RG Rubberclad is a very heavy peice and is a must see. Pictures do not do it justice.

Now, I've seen a RG ROO that had a dark honey croc gator strap on it, and that was impressive, not sure of the details, but it's the only AP i've seen that I liked. Apart from the T3 of course, and that one just because of the ridiculous size!

Sorry guys, but the only AP I like is the Royal Oak in steel/gold with the blue dial and TT bracelet.

Gotta agree. AP is one of the brands that I want to like and should like... but just can't because of their designs. But I respect them as a manufacture house.

I agree with you on the RG Rubberclad. I tried it on quite a few times at different ADs in Japan and Hong Kong, and it is a gorgeous watch in the metal. All haters would be converted- guaranteed!

I still have my spot in the list for a Barrichello II at a Hong Kong AD, and my turn should come (3rd in line) in February 2007 or so. The question is, to pull the trigger, or not? This particular AD was very friendly (I left US$10,000 refundable with them), and offered to put me on the list, despite the fact I'm a new customer. I'll give them a ring tonight to see if they will get me on the list for the new Alinghi ROO, Scuba AFAIK is only at the boutique.

Interestingly enough, I don't fancy the RG Barrichello, I prefer the JPM a lot more. The Ti Barrichello is the home run of this line.

Oh, and the new Alinghi ROO, are you referring to the Polaris? I had the chance to buy one in stock from the same AD with a 10% discount. (I could have bought it and sold it for $2,000 instant profit)

Oddly enough, I actually like the looks of AP's Millenary Line.

If you have a US$10K deposit, why not get it back and get the AP you want?

I think it's because he has "limitations" from the parents, based on previous comments he's made.

But these limitations don't hamper his business class flying.

I think the bottom line here is, most things are attainable, if you're willing to sacrifice some of the nicer things in life.

It's a complex thing, my father can get very cheap premium class tickets, as he travels a lot, and they are issued in either Singapore/Hong Kong. We end up paying not much over economy prices, and I don't pay anyways.

I'm keeping the $10K deposit, as I want to see how the market for the Barrichello will do after it comes out in November. If it does well, I plan on eliminating something in my collection (the JLC will go), acquire the Barrichello, wear it for a while, and sell it off for a profit or at least my initial investment.
