I don't want to sell so this is not a fake post

Hi all my granddad past away a few weeks ago and today I have been given a Rolex I believe to be a Rolex Oyster Perpetual Daytona.

I have no idea about rolexs I have been trying to find out how much its roughly worth, Im not sure if it's even real. I can't provide a photo but on the front it has around the outside 400 going clockwise till 60 which says units per hour it has 3 little clock faces in the big on with Daytona written in red below the other writing, on the side it has 3 rotating pin things with Rolex symbol on the middle one and the back of the watch it has winner Rolex AD Daytona 1992 24?

On the band/strap? On the catch bit it has markings

78488
Rolex
Geneve
Rolexs
18k
750
And 2 symbols

Sorry If there is a post about this watch already I can't find anything helpful the only the thing I did find was a post about someone selling one of these as well listing It on eBay so any information would be much appreciated

Regards

sorry about his passing. it a good thing though that he left you a Daytona to remember him as time passes. post some pics and our WIS members will quickly be able to answer some of your questions.

Replica makers who counterfeit Rolex watches often add that engraving on the case back to further their illegal activity.

If your Daytona watch has like you state winner Rolex Daytona 1992 24 on the case back its a 100% fake end of story.

A couple of options...

Take it to any London Rolex Authorized Dealer and for a reasonable fee they will assess it...and confiscate it as counterfeit...

Take it to any pawn broker for a loan and you will get an immediate reaction...

Post a pic of your granddad on the winners podium at Daytona '92 then we have a starting point. Did you grandfather race cars? Was he closely affiliated with those who did? Provenance?!?
