Speedmasters Still Being Used in Space

I'm actually surprised that Omega doesn't talk about this more. I wonder why that is. Always nice to see watches with history still being used for their original purpose. It's awesome for people to look a their current moonwatch and be able to say that it's currently being used in space. Omega gets a lot of flak (deservedly) for all those special editions, but I give them so much credit for keeping the moonwatch as close to the originals as they have. Just goes to show how far ahead of its time the design truly was. Picture from 2014 |

That's very cool. Thanks for sharing. I never would have thought that the astronauts would still be using watches like this over their spacesuits.

I wonder what the recommended service interval is for a Speedmaster used in EVA? It blows my mind to think of that watch, ticking away in the frozen vacuum of space.
