skydweller too big

The skydweller is my dream watch - I love everything about it. However, I have 17 cm wrists (with a skinny top/thick bottom), so the skydweller doesn't fit me (lugs overhang wrist).
Anyone else share these woes? Anyone expect them to ever release a smaller version? I'm hoping they one day release a 40mm version, but I doubt they will.

It's pretty big and chunky for my wrist as well.

Why not just go for a DJ? They look pretty similar...

I have bigger wrists, but I still felt it was bigger than I liked.

If you get it on jubilee instead of oyster, it won’t overhang as much because the jubilee doesnt have the extra effective L2L that the SEL on the oyster causes.

I really hope Rolex moves to annual calendars for Datejusts and Day Dates, with the same Annual Calendar display without the 24hr sub dial. Maybe without the GMT sub dial, this movement could be in a 40mm watch

You can probably pull it off, but I found it wore large on my 7” wrist

As for a 40mm version, I highly doubt it. There’s a lot going on, on that dial making legibility an issue for me even at 42mm, YMMV

Sky D is great and I love the size for my 7 inch wrist. Really adds some variety to the collection and offers some great wrist presence compared to most (not all) other Rolex models. Would never want it to be any smaller.

I understand smaller wrists having an issue with it, but I’ve seen it work just fine on a variety of people.

Try a Datejust or a Day-Date.

Sounds like you should give Omega a look. You can get an AC AT in as small as 38.5mm.

I have a 6 3/4 inch wrist and a blue sky dweller and I absolutely love it. Feels and looks great on me but that's my and my wife's opinion and could care less what anyone else thinks (I doubt they notice or care to be honest). But....if you like the Sky D and think it's too big just get a datejust in the color and band you like. If a Sky D is a Date just on steroids....the Date just is a Sky Dweller that isn't juicing. Do you really need the GMT and annual calendar? i don't....I just like the look and exclusivity of the Sky D but again...I think the size is part of the appeal ....not part of the problem.

Kind of funny that people want bigger Daytonas and smaller Sky Dwellers. I mean....just buy the watch that you like (or can get your hands on) ....there's a shit load of offerings but most of them are so hard to get it hardly matters.

I have almost the same size wrist as you, 6.75" and the skyd fits perfect, does not wear too large at all. Lugs are no where near the end of my wrists. Nor did I think it was chunky at all but I've worn a wide array of different sized watches. Maybe you are just used to much smaller/thinner watches.

First, the SD is a fantastic watch, and those of you that own or will own in the future congratulations and you have a very fine timepiece. BUT…. I owned one for six months, a SS white face. (Again) it is a tremendous watch, but in the end I sold it and now wear a 41MM sub. The reasons are varied, I started a thread about it, but…. Yes, I found it too big, bulky, and… top-heavy for my taste. I found the dial a little cluttered as well, not easy to tell the time at a glance and with my eyes I needed reading glasses to read the second timezone. My 41 sub is the most perfect wearing and looking watch I have ever owned. I like everything about it.

Of course, these are all just MHO, if you decide to go with the SD best to all those that wear one!

155mm flattish arm here. Fits me just fine.

It is top-heavy, but . . . so what.

Here’s a pic of mine on 7 inch wrist. Yup, it’s a wee bit top heavy and there’s not much meat either side of the lugs but it’s such a great bit of kit, irdc. I have ordered the jubilee and can’t wait to put that on.

sorry to say, but that watch look way too big on your wrist. Folk with smaller wrist hould wear watches that fit...just like a pair of slacks or a sports coat.

There are plenty of watches out there with an annual calendar complication, great designs, sizes and prices.

Rolex isn't the only brand of watches, there are others.

My wrists are about the same size as yours and I have been on a list for one for 18 months! I understand shape of the wrist comes into play, mine are a bit flat which helps, but please make sure you have asked knowledgeable friends about how it looks on you before you give up on this watch.

It's such a beautiful timepiece, I tried it on and love it. Two months ago I got offered black dial, I passed and waiting for the blue dial, I don't know when I will be able to get it.
