Goodbye batman
I picked him up a few days before my engagement party and wore him then... Since then it's hardly been worn and I also picked up a Tudor GMT. For some reason, I wore my Tudor GMT more than my batman... I just felt it was time to let the batman go.
I will never pay over list for a watch and so today I sold the watch at what it would cost on a jubilee bracelet to a family member. The little profit I made will be donated to the NHS I'll never get rid of my Hulk though - also considering adding a Tudor BB58 in the collection now. Edit: I've always said i'll never get rid of the Hulk but last year I was contemplating on getting rid of it for a pepsi on Jubilee lol Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk |

Nice gesture, I'm sure that they can use it.

I never was drawn to the Batman. My Submariner fills the dive watch void.
Now making a little profit on a relative, Hmmm. I know the profit was donated. However, I would’ve sold it at my cost, with no profit. |

The 58 is a lovely watch - enjoying mine. I also love the Tudor Advisor although it is a totally different experience on the wrist to the 58. If you change your mind about the Hulk let me know!

I don’t see how buying a preowned watch, at current retail is a good deal. I’m not saying you didn’t do something nice, nor am I trying to shoot you down. A snide remark was not intended. You said you will never pay over list for a watch. However, you made/agreed with a relative that they pay £1500 over list, (Your list price ) for your preowned watch. I just can’t understand why pay more. I would think that a relative would prefer to pay you, your cost. This way you don’t lose, and neither do they. With that said, at least your profit went to charity. May the both of you enjoy your watches.

I have a Batman blnr and Tudor gmt. Love both and absolutely think hulk is one of the ugliest watches Rolex has ever made. Total invicta looking color. Congrats on whatever makes you happy.

I’m not a fan of the Hulk either. I don’t like that shade of green. However, Seiko has a new diver, with a matte, dark green that is just beautiful. It doesn’t scream at you. Unfortunately, I think it’s 42mm. My preference in size is 36mm-40mm.

I think the negative comments are unnecessary as without doubt the vast majority of us would have taken the chance to profit a few thousand. A good deal for the family member (relative to current used market prices) and definitely a good deal for the NHS.
Well done OP (though to be honest it was also a little unnecessary to broadcast the deed)

Too bad you never took a liking to it, I think it's a great piece, wish I could get hold of one. And good for you to make a donation.

If you do good then broadcast it so others may follow, but never show off or boast i.e. look at me and look at you you've donated nothing. When it comes to charity, you should broadcast your giving so others may follow suit. But we come from two different cultures and you will probably never understand our culture (hence why you've tried to unsuccessfully invade our countries countless amount of times lol) Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk |

Come on guys...
My guess is, regarding the way it went : - OP is happy - his relative is happy - and the NHS is happy Do good deeds, or don't, no one is asking you to. But if OP wishes to talk about it and perhaps, inspire some of us to do the same in some way or another, why would anyone blame him for that..? |

I'm with you OP. Had the Batman and Hulk at the same time. Batman only lasted a week.

OP is happy, and NHS is happy. However, making profit on a family member is not cool. Maybe the relative didn’t want to say anything, because he didn’t want to cause problems. Or yes, maybe he’s happy too. Seems like the relative was the one that made the donation. OP got back what he paid for the watch, so no loss on his end. The extra £1500 his relative paid went to NHS. Which was a very nice gesture.

Nice gesture, could teach our millionaire bloodsucking "fashionistas" a thing or two about decency.
