I wouldn't worry too much about the ratings, Mark. We know who's knocking us. Let them have at it. The numbers speak for themselves.

But we do need some more speed here. We are running very slow today. Do you know what the problem is?

Yes. It's caused by your constant stream of JJ bashing e-mails

You know, I've never talked, or typed or whatever you call this, on a chat page or forum before, nor did I ever see myself ever doing this. When I began shopping for the GMT I was trying to gather as much info as possible on it, as well as, two other models. When I typed this info into the search fields on the web I kept getting forum pages for results.
I've looked at several of the forums listed on the link Mark provided above. I asked questions on at least three of the forums mentioned there. They all seemed to be friendly and quick to offer advise.
But this forum was different. Alot of thought and effort went into the responses I received here. It showed that you guys weren't just showing how much you knew about watches, but that you genuinely cared about my dilemma.
I actually look forward now to spending time here, reading what everyone has to say and throwing in my two cents now and again. You're a very welcoming group and you have alot to offer here. the knowledge and advise you are all so willing provide is second to none. The ball breaking is endless, not to mention hilarious and you seem to make it a point to make new members feel welcome and comfortable.
Anyway, sorry for the really...really...really long reply, it's just my two-cents.
By the way, anyone who checks out a couple of the other forums along with this one will ultimately end up here, no matter what the rating is!

Thanks CJ. You're already a valued member here, despite what JJ says behind your back in PMs.

We've learned hard lessons via being members at other forums, and brought only the good here, and left the bad at the bad places... and we all know who they are!

Ah ha!! We've fooled you, too, CJ.

But seriously, thank kind sir for the kind words. Many of us are fugitives from some of those other fora and when we came together it was with the goal of creating a fun place to be. Yes, we have some knowledge of the watch world, but very few people here consider themselves real experts (or at least they are too modest to admit to being one). But we do try to be helpful, mainly because we've all been the position of a newbie at one point and we know what it's like to need help.

So do stick around and enjoy the fun. And ask as many questions as you like. You might even get some nuggets of information mixed in with the light hearted digs and jokes.

Now you're on the subject of PM's. I cleaned out my PM inbox with great anticipation but all I got were insulting e-mails from Canadians, death threats by unknown persons and ads for Viagra. What gives, punk?

Without going into details, the server we operate on is tapped in resources, is 3 years old and will be retired shortly.

The delay recently is a domain that belongs to a friend. He is building a racing facility and has his website hosted on my server as a favor. His Bulletin Board software has been exploited and is running a spam email script. This is causing alot of problem on a server that is already short on resources. I am trying to get him to upgrade to the latest version of software to fix the security hole. I am also working with the company that host the server to assist with these issues.

Hey CJ. Thanks for the kind words. Glad you found us. I, unlike the others found this place from JJ. I wasn't aware the fugitive place existed at the time. I kind of felt left out. So what I did was join just to post some sh*t so I could get banned. Now I feel like part of the gang.
BTW, don't listen to anything Frans (Goodwatch) has to say. He's always somking the chronic and he's Dutch on top of it.

Don't forget the BC Bud.
Is it true that BC Bud is known world wide? Every day we hear on the local news of Grow ups being busted around here. According or news, this stuff is being shipped everywhere. Heck, the dealers even dug a tunnel from Canada to the US last summer to ship the stuff.

You mistake me for JJ Are you proud of yourself? The land of the brave and the free. Equality and justice for all. As long as you're not Dutch. Why, oh why did we give New York to those Red Coates?

I have heard of BC Bud on the news on more than one occasion. I also heard of the tunner last year. Maybe that's how the illegal Mexicans get in here.

I just wish I could have got to this post before the madness started.

Great sentiment CJ, it shows we are doing something right.
