Been looking at the 5726/1A
Hey.
Been looking at this reference extensively again and it might be sooner than later that i pull the trigger I'm currently trying to understand the changes that happened to the watch in the periods 2021 on wards to choose wisely ? when was the folding clasp changed? any changes on the movement it self or any notable things to observe? also , currently floating between 100k USD for 2021 preowned blue dial / to 115k usd for 2023 brand new would appreciate your help on the target price as well thanks |

Unless you plan to wear it daily an annual calendar isn’t needed.
Personally I’d go for the 5712/1a, it’s much more slim and sleek and you only have to adjust it 5 times a year vs once a year for the AC |

I’d go 5712/1A as well. Dont love the AC complication and prefer the thinness of the 12A. If going with a thicker Naut would look at the 5990 or 5980s

5726 is my favourite Nautilus and I have one, but on the strap 5726A-001.
I believe that the clasp was updated on the bracelet version (5726/1A-014) in 2021. The movement was introduced in 1996, I think. But 5726 as a reference was introduced in 2012 in grey and white and the blue dial version in 2019. Not sure about any dramatic changes/updates since 2019... It's not as slim as 5711/5712/5740, but not as thick as 5980/5990. I wear it daily and really like the watch in every aspect.

Big fan of the 5726
You are in the ball park on price - mine was a 2023 purchase. I wanted the new clasp, in my climate super nice option. Size comparison in this thread is accurate. If you want something a little "chunkier" than a 5711-5811-5712-5740...5726 is more substantial. If I remember correctly the exact measurements on the others mentioned are very close. I currently own all of them. On the wrist "feel" very close as well, but from "largest feel" on wrist to "smallest feel" on wrist I would probably rank in this order...5990 largest - then 5980 - then 5726. The Chrono pushers probably allow for larger "feel" on 5990/5980. |

hello! seeing that you have a 5726 as well, can i ask you something? i have one as well and i know the basic rule for adjusting the watch as per the manual and videos in youtube (first is wind the watch, put the time on 6am, set the date to the first day of the month, set the month, set the correct date, set the day then moonphase and lastly set the correct time). OK so for example i used the watch on Aug 23, with the power reserve at 35-45max it will run out by aug 25 right? My question is if i want to use the watch again after it stopped, do i need to the whole process again of just adjust the date and day since its still technically Aug? Thank you and looking forward for your response or other people here as well.

As a heads up, I found out a couple of days ago that Patek just recently updated the movement to 26‑330 S QA LU 24H. It remains to be seen whether this has an impact on second market prices.

Huge fan…have had one since they came out. Love the day aperture’s. Also love the annual bec it’s not far from a perpetual and much rather have calendar function than the chrono which I never use.

I own both a Nautilus and an Aquanaut. Both are comfortable. The Aquanaut is more comfortable probably due the the lighter tropical strap.
