Icon17 5167 & 5711 review and pictures

I've bashed together a small write up and a few snaps to show the details and differences of the two references. I've also thrown in a Rolex to get out the details and dimensions

In a nutshell the 5711 Nautilus is a classic among classics and the fact that you can't find it at ADs is an indication

The 5167 Aquanaut must be one of the most comfortable watches to wear. The rubber strap is extremely comfortable

Both are great sport watches, elegant and understated. Very interesting and small pieces of art and you can't go wrong with either.

Both 40mm and use the same 324 non-hacking movement

The 5167 has a big tasty roman numerals dial. by far the best lume of any watch I've ever owned

The 5711's blue dial needs little introduction, it's simply stunning

Three 40mm sports watches next to each other

The 5711 is very thin and sits very flat on the wrist. next to a £1 coin

Bit thicker is the 5167 and like the 5711 is hugs the wrist and it's pure bliss

5711 compared to a 1680 Sub

Both watches come with a clear caseback so the movement can be enjoyed

Deployment buckle on both - very sturdy and very high quality as it can be expected

5711 on the wrist. 40mm just the right size

This has to be one of the best crafted bracelets on the market. note the 1.5 link I've fitted to get a super comfy fit

5167

So comfy it's unreal

Another 40mm classic

On the arm to get an idea of the size of these two great Pateks

That's it folks, thanks for looking

I particulary liked the photo of the two pieces with their bracelets/straps mirrioring easch other

Any more thoughts on which metal/dial 5146 you are considering?

Fantastic pics and great review! Especially loved the comparison re: feeling on the wrist versus a Sub, relative height, etc.

Never saw myself going for an Aquanaut but you may have changed my mind.

Great post! Could not agree more on the 5167 being extremely comfortable to wear. You really have to try it to realize just how great of a wearer it is. Love it!

Love this thread Anders. I've been contemplating which of these two for quite a while as I can't get the two at the same time. Although this thread is actually making the decision even harder.

Great pics . I just got the 5711. It is stunning. Not to big on my 6.5 inch wrist. When I went to get it I initially thought I was going to get the Aquanaut 5167 but it looked to big on my wrist then I tried the Nautalus 5711 (could not believe they had one) I was sold. To Puffy and the other who posted pictures of the 5167, what is your wrist size?

That's an excellent pictorial, Anders ! Thanks for sharing
That is the first time I realized that the movement of the 5711 is non-hacking !!!

I'd gun for the 5711. That Nautilus design is classic.

I keep looking at the great pictures you took. Thanks for taking the time for such a great thread. Both watches are amazing. You cannot go wrong with either watch. I have a 5711 but look forward to purchasing a 5167 in the future. I would love to see pictures of the the 5167 with steel bracelet if anyone has them.
