5513 1978? All ok?
Hi,
First post on here so go gentle please! I just picked this up, I’m asking if some of you more seasoned collectors concur with my own and think all is correct for this reference and age? All information gratefully received. Ian |

Welcome Ian. More experienced collectors will chime in but I would make two comments.
The lugs look polished - some here care, some don't. The hands look newer to me. |

Thanks for reply, as for lugs not sure, I’ve looked at a few photos and hard to tell?
The side of lugs and case have lots of small nicks etc so they haven’t been polished out. Could it be general wear from use? Clothing etc rubbing? As for hands under a 5x loupe, the minute one looks pretty well same as indices, the hour hand does seem slightly lighter in colour. |

Moderators will probably move this thread to the Vintage section, where you'll get more perspectives.
I cannot tell if it's the angle of the picture, though my biggest worry is the crown guards as seen in the first picture. They appear heavily polished in both width and depth. Usually they should cover almost all of the ridges on the crown and it looks like they are maybe halfway there. If you have a full picture of the watch face up including the crown guards, that would help. Also, can't really see the condition/width of the lugs in these photos. That's another area of focus that is important. |
