AP 15550ST 37mm- honest opinions

Hello guys, after a 2 year wait I finally got the call for a 15550ST in 37mm .

However I’m afraid I may have abit of doubts and buyers remorse on the size chosen.

My wrist is about 16.5 cm , and on collecting my 15550ST, I curiously asked to try on the 15510ST in 41mm.

Some thoughts on the 37mm- I felt that the watch maybe appearing too small on my wrist, other watches I have is the Rolex 126710BLRO, 1601 DJ, 1803 DD.

The 37mm feels smaller than my 126710BLRO.

I have asked a close mate of mine and he felt I should have gone 41mm , as the 37mm appears small and dainty.

What do you guys think? Should I keep the watch?

I have attached some photos.

Last pic in white dial is the 15510ST - 41mm on my wrist.

I have the same wrist size with you and 37mm is more than perfect.. I don’t know why folks are so obsessing with the larger model, they are cool, but I would suspect there are actually many people who hasn’t even tried one before making judgement.

All in all, 37mm is definitely a better size for a wrist like ours. It looks less chunky and gives an extra elegance to its sporty nature

Yeah fair enough. My mate has a nautilus 5726, and that actually seems to be a better size on my wrist… only wished I had landed my hands on the 39mm jumbo .

I think the issue is your friend has planted the seed that the watch is too small. Personally I think the 37mm on your wrist is perfect and the 41mm is too big if anything

You have the perfect size watch for your wrist - don't overthink it... You want about a link or so to show of the bracelet.

The 41mm is nice (I have one) but on your wrist it looks too large

37mm is a great size, particularly if you have a smaller wrist. The one observation/complaint I have is that the dial window is a bit tiny on the 37mm, giving an impression of smallness that the overall case would not otherwise give. To offset this, get the grey dial, so that the dial blends into the rest of the case. This is what you did, thus making your 37mm Royal Oak absolutely, 100% the perfect Royal Oak for you. Buyer’s remorse be gone - well done, congratulations, and enjoy!

Thanks . The 41 is nice too, I actually prefer if they had kept the AP logo on the new 41, without it the logo the dial on the 41 looks quite empty and large . But the case back on the 41 is nicer than the 37mm I feel.

Just received my grey 15550 and I have a 6.5 inch wrist - it’s pure perfection.Waited about 13 months from the boutique and it was absolutely worth it. As much as I understand the hype of the 41mm, the proportions of the 37mm are somewhat reminiscent of the OG RO, the 5402.

I’ve never had an AP before this and it absolutely lives up to the hype. If you don’t feel the same way after wearing it a few days, maybe considering trading up? Either way, hope you find the watch you love!

It honestly looks perfect tbh. I think the 41mm could look way too big. A friend of mine tried on my 41mm 15510 recently and he normally wears a Nautilus and tbh the 41mm didn’t suit his wrist at all.

15300 would solve the problem. I don’t like the dial size/bracelet taper of the 37mm RO models.

The 37mm looks perfect on your wrist. Royal oaks wears a bit large. Assuming last photo is 41mm. It looks big. My wrist is 7inch 41mm look a tad big for me. I'm oping and waiting on my 37mm to come.

Anyways it's an awesome watch. Wear it in good health

The 37mm looks fine on your wrist.
But 41mm could also.

If you took those pics with your camera in the other hand, head-on shots always make the watch look too large.

For soliciting opinions from others, better to take a pic from a further distance.
1st pic below with camera pointed directly at other hand (head-on, would likely elicit "too large" comments).
Then took 2nd pic pivoting camera to point at a mirror 2 ft away.

From what I can tell looking at your pics and your stated wrist circumference, both 37mm and 41mm would probably look fine on your wrist, and so it comes down personal preference with no right/wrong answers.

I think the 37 fits very well on your wrist and the 41 in the last photo seems a tad big on you. I wouldn't think twice. You made a good purchase and it looks great.

37 looks better than 41 on you, no doubt. I also think it's a little more stubble/classy.

AP 15550ST 37mm- honest opinions

41 would have been MASSIVE on you.

Edit: just saw last photo. Yep. Stand by my statement above.

Fully agreed with everyone here. 37mm looks much better on your wrist than the 41mm. A much classier look than the massive 41mm.

It only matters what feels comfortable for you, but for what it’s worth, I think the 37mm looks the perfect size for you :-)

I’m a big fan of the 41mm size, but in your case I actually think the 37mm looks absolutely perfect on you. Grey dial is a winner as well - enjoy!

I agree with others, the 37mm is great. The 41mm looks too large on your wrist.

Think the 37 fits you really well. Where the 41 looks way too large.

Agreed, the 37mm size fits you best. No need to overthink on this.

you've already seen enough replies. 37mm works best for your wrist objectively. however watches are so personal. some people want love having tiny dial as it looks more vintage looking. some people love having a dinner plate on the wrist. there's no wrong. if you spend this much money, you are entitled to be happy with your purchase.

37 looks way better on your wrist than the 41. I think you made the right choice.
