Authenticate a Buckley datejust?
Hi, I hope some of you can help identify if this is an original Rolex offering. The first thing I noticed is that it doesn’t have painted hands or lume on them although there is lume on the dial. The dealer seems good and said the bracelet is aftermarket/custom but all else is “original”. The hands are silver, no lume. What do you think?
Oops, I guess I can’t post a link yet. But the watch is on Chrono24. It has a silver dial, which seems to be rare in the printed dial/ Buckley world. Any advice you can give is greatly appreciated! Thanks! |

Can you post a screenshot of the watch in question?
As to black hands...generally speaking, those are pretty rare as you can imagine. It's not uncommon to see buckley dials without black handsets for this reason. You can have your hands painted if it bothers you (or source a correct black handset?).

Authenticate a Buckley datejust?
I don’t see anything to suggest the watch is fake. A mundane fake wouldn’t have a correct vintage date wheel in it. As to dial itself, I vote refinished/aftermarket. At least I’ve never seen a sunburst Buckley before (but I’ve not seen it all, and am happy to be corrected).
Obviously, a few more pics would help, preferably not taken with a snorkel. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Watch does not look fake to me. Like south Texas, I’ve never seen a Buckley dial on Sunburst.
