FS: 1958 Rolex "Small Crown" Submariner 5508 w/ Tropical Dial

I’m selling a 1958 Rolex “Small Crown” Submariner 5508 with a tropical dial, here are the details:

Dial: Excellent condition black glossy gilt dial that has aged to multiple shades of brown in a gradient from caramel to dark brown. The radium hour plots and hands have aged to a cement hue. The watch registers correctly for radium on a Geiger counter. Please note that the crystal is heavily crazed and what appear to be scratches on the dial are reflections.

Case: Excellent condition 38mm stainless case with serial 488,xxx that appears to be untouched. It shows wear from use and has developed a sleeve polished appearance with well-intact bevels. The later bezel insert is in excellent condition showing light wear. The watch comes mounted on a new Horween shell cordovan strap.

Movement: Automatic winding Rolex caliber 1530 movement.

Accessories: None.
