Has anyone sold their Patek back to the AD they purchased from?
As the title says, I was looking to sell a calatrava purchased this year and wonder if anyone has sold their watch back to the dealer they purchased from. I don't want to shoot my self in the foot and ruin my relationship if they are wondering why I want to sell. I have noticed they have preowned model including Patek and Rolex. Any insight? Thanks.

My AD is a PP dealer and they buy back watches from PP all the time. Now the price is a different thing as most models are trading below retail so offers will be significantly below what you paid. If you have a hard to get model then maybe you will get a better price. I would check with some of our Trusted Seller and see what they would offer. Sometimes trade values are higher and I will trade a watch to then sell the new watch for more money. More than one way to move out of watches.

I had no idea some ADs even dealt with pre-owned Patek, Patek themselves allow it? Surprised considering how strict they are with their ADs!

My AD whilst selling other brands and which is planning to join Rolex's CPO programme has told me they aren't keen on selling used Pateks ... especially current models or ones that trade above list. They do occasionally have one and recently when one was on display they said they'd actually spoken to Patek to check they were OK with them retailing it ... and it was a Calatrava not a Aquanaut / Nautilus.
