Vacheron Patrimony Retrograde Day-Date?
Hi Watch Peeps!
I have never owned a Vacheron before but came across a great deal for this watch. MSRP is $43.7K and my local watch shop offers this to me at $24K. Thoughts on this watch at this price point? Seems like a great piece with interesting (and rare) complications. Want to get your expert opinion before I jump on this. https://www.vacheron-constantin.com/...000r-b110.html |

those have pretty weak resale making them a relative bargain. not a huge fan of the day of the week indicator especially with some scrunched and others stretched out but not a dealbreaker. will say the previous 37mm version is one of my favorite designs. i wouldn't it just for the deal though, since not the easiest to move if you change your mind, but if it's something you've had your eye on then go for it.

The way the days are written crosses it off for me.

Is the deal new or pre owned?
As others have said, there is a reason for the pricing, that model isn’t all that popular and will be tough to resell. Then again, most people don’t go into watches for resale value, just don’t think about it as a “deal”, that seems to be what the demand is (and of course that can change, see Patek nautilus...) If you like the watch and believe you will enjoy it, then of course buy it and wear it! But don’t just buy for the VC brand or because you think it’s a great deal, buy it because you really want that particular watch. For me, I love the retrograde date complications, but this one isn’t my favorite, and the day of the week indicator just seems a bit off to me. Not my personal favorite. |

I'm not sure I love the day of the week retrograde but the rest of the watch looks good. VC is an excellent value pre-owned but this one is large with a lot of dial so I would not recommend it if you have smaller wrists.

Good advice. The deal is for brand new watch... Makes it v. tempting.
