Icon20 My First Rolex!!

Hi Forum Members After a long wait and a tortuous route of Omegas, Seiko, Smith & Wesson (!) and various other watches I now have a model 6994 Rolex - and I love it! But I need to know a few things if you guys can help a Rolex Newbie please.. Firstly, how often should this model be serviced, assuming I wind it every day? And is this model considered fairly robust for daily wear? I am advised the serial number is 22501xx by the collector I bought it from, but can't read the last 2 digits without removing the strap - but I would really like to know what year this watch was made, if anyone can tell me from the serial number...please? Anyway, now I have the watch I have lusted after for a very long time, so I look forward to being a member of this forum in the future. I will upload a photo of it as soon as I take some decent ones. Thanks in advance if the guys with the knowledge can help me.

Don't worry about servicing the timepiece unless it runs under COSC specification for several weeks.

Looks like your watch was produced about 1967 or 68.
