Rolex will on run 15 minutes or so

I have an older Rolex that was supposed to have been serviced (doubtful) which has the automatic feature. It runs about 15 to 20 minutes then stops. When I saw this was the pattern I quit trying to get it to run fearing further damage. I am going to take it to be serviced, but do you guys have an idea what would make it do this? Major or minor issue??? thanks

Need more info is it wound up manually to start with 40 winds or so if not just putting it on it will not wind enough to keep going for more than 15 to 20 minutes. Of course there are many other things it could be but start with the essentials Rik
