Very Early Unique Rolex Oysterdate from around 1926

Hello all,

First time here, a true watch collectoholic :)

I have just purchased a very early Rolex, I think it is extremely rare and will recieve it shortly.

There a serial on the case is 9081 (I cant attach pic links till I have 10posts).. and I am sure its one of the first oyster date models made.

I will loadd pics after I make 9 more posts :)

I has a porcelain dial, its a tank shape, like a vintage bulova, has a large protruding onion ring crown, the watch bezel has a coin edge. base metal case, its very old.

I wanted some help from enthusiasts on this site, anything you could tell me more about this watch, what does the serial stamped on the back tell you about it? Movemnnt etc etc I an also doing some research.

Its not working at the moment and will find out why when I get it and get the back open. What do you think of this a very unique and rare model?

better photso will loaded when I get it delivered.

Glad I found this forum

Larry, how come new people are still under the impression that they must have ten posts before posting a photo? I know you’ve had to comment on this many times!

I don’t think you can post a link under 10 posts.

If you try to post a url you get the message, this is part of spam abatement.

We like photos so I let folks know that they can always attach a properly sized image.

Hi Malcolm,
Sounds like a real find. Just joined myself and faced similar restrictions but the football Euros were on then and there was a thread on here about that too. Search around, easy enough to ramp your posts up on a a variety of topics before you get to talk turkey.
