Anyone else notice a difference in watches based on materials/styles and the easy link? By this I mean how tight/loose it is when fastened in the closed position?

I ask because as I have had a numerous number of watches before I started attending flippers anonymous

and have noticed quite a bit of difference.

It seems on some it is very loose and takes little to no pressure whatsoever to open the easy link (almost too loose IMHO) while others are nice and tight.

Anyone else aware of this or have I lost my mind

Or both

Interesting point, and since you go through watches like I do paper plates, I say your not loosing your mind! I wonder if this is a "wearing" issue, or a minute variance in size. All of my ez links are SS, and currently in the deposit box- but you have peaked my curiosity. I have not noticed them being loose, but also rarely use them...

This may be a dumb question, and since I don't have an ez in front of me, but are there any parts that can be replaced to tighten things up- like a bar or is there any kind of clip on the ez link thats wearabile and replaceable?

I use the easy link on my GMT all the time and it is nice and tight - though without feeling like I am breaking the bracelet when I pull the link

Same sensation on a recent Daytona. But then again I've only had experience with two easy link clasps, both SS, so not exactly decisive stats...

Mine are pretty tight..... But there again living in the UK, I rarely get any opportunity to use it.......

Certainly not this year......

My 116710 easylink clasp is looser than my 116718 but it doesn't bother me.

maybe it depends on how many times you've used the function. I'd imagine if you use it frequently it'll be loose.

Thanks guys I was just wondering if anyone else had noticed anything. It is definitely different on different watches, some of the same model... And I am talking BNIB so I do not think it is a wear thing.

I suppose it doesn't really matter as when the watch is on the wrist I would think it would be impossible for it to open anyway

my gmt2c is nice and tight to engage i also use it daily 2x a day. freakin hot here.

Mine is has some play and doesn't snap tight the way some do, but i can't say whether it is a wear issue on the pin, since I purchased it secondhand.

Mine lost its "click" this past week. Now when wearing my 116170 GMT IIc, I have to close the clasp in a certain way to ensure the easylink is engaged. Does this mean I need to get the easylink replaced?

[UPDATE] Looked into it more and ended up taking out the easylink "link" and noticed that it was slightly bent, resulting in the catch not grabbing the pin. Gently straightened the link and the satisfying "click" is back.
