Anyone else have model # fatigue?

Doesn’t “YG DD 40 Champagne” rather than 228238 make it easier on most? Just my 2 cents.

Not really, ref numbers are part of the fun of collecting. Nerding out.

I hate seeing the model numbers. I’d rather see the picture or description of the watch

Superhero and drinks names are better than boring reference numbers which are difficult to remember. Even Rolex wants it's customers to continue using them because they contributed in helping Rolex become the king of the watch world.

Same here.

I do suppose however some models need spelled out a bit. No stupid nick names, but for watches like the Datejust where there’s a million variants I get.

Wow-I’m impressed! I know my OP and my former Sub but yet on occasion I have to search my contacts list for my daughter’s phone #. How pathetic is that?!?

I quite like model numbers, because a post that quickly hits me with three model numbers I don't recognise doesn't have me as its target audience, so I bail.

I definitively have nickname fatigue. I barely know the reference numbers for the ones I own or have owned, the rest I recognize a few but without caring about those models it's hard to get too into the numbers.

I read Picachu on here the other day...just shoot me in the temple if I ever use that.

I get more fatigued with some of the names people come up with for their watches, if I'm honest.
