Has Rolex changed the GMT Master II Bezel insert
Last week I purchased a GMT Master II Pepsi from an AD. I like to use UV light to lume my watches, it really is nice to see them fully lumed. I use a Alonefire SV003, SVC365mn, 10W, UV light. For those who know the difference between 385nm and 365nm you know why I chose the one I did. I found on my new watch the bezel insert glows red or burgandy, the entire insert with no visible numbers or other markings showing. I thought this was somewhat strange so I checked my Batman and the bezel insert doesn't react at all to the UV light. I know this is an authentic Rolex as I purchased it from my AD, a really great AD at that. And like all AD's his watches come in from Rolex. I even ask for and was given the coffin and the stickers he removed in front of me as a momento of sorts, something I like to have with each purchase. And I know Rolex bezel inserts are ceramic so I wonder if this is a different type of ceramic on the 2021 inserts? Can anyone else check their 2021 GMT Pepsi to confirm or deny this is happening with their watches also. My wild guess is that Rolex has found a way to improve on their ceramic bezel insert. Thank You, God bless

On the
blue and black bezel insert, the blue is coloured black, but on the red and blue version, half of the red bezel is changed to blue. On the brown and black bezel insert, the brown is turned to black https://newsroom-content.rolex.com/-...glish_2018.pdf according to the above description it would seem the red bezel is reacting to the uv light because of the red spectrum being affected by uv lignt and the other color bezels don't have a color spectrum that is affected...hmmm |

Yes that's pretty well known that if you use that type of light that the whole bezel turns red. Rolex makes the bezel in one piece, and deposits the blue later I believe, that's why it does that.
