Got offered a Daytona ... and turned it down
My AD called today and offered me a Daytona 126503 -- two-tone with white dial. It's a gorgeous watch, but I turned it down, as I really want an all-stainless one. Of course, now I am having pangs of regret. Was I an idiot?
Tell me did I the right thing! I need the validation of the Rolex collective, haha.

If you do not want TT, you were correct not to buy it.

You did the right thing if you did not want it.
With that said though, I own the stainless 116500 with black dial, and I would add a two-tone white dial if I could. |

You did the right thing IMO.

You did the right thing mate. I have been offered in black dial 6 months ago and I turned it down. My AD told me that two tone is easy to get. So don't worry, if you don't get the steel one soon, you can always fall back on two tone daytona.

Thanks everybody. With tax it was gonna run 21 grand, and I just couldn't see myself spending that kind of coin on a watch I wasn't absolutely in love with.
@AVINASHR -- good point. I have heard the two-tones are more widely available than the steel ones. So you're likely right, if I change my mind, another one should come around.

I couldn't resist
Similar situation last month....went in looking for a watch for the wife and a rootbeer for myself but just that day the AD had received 2 two tone Daytonas one with the white dial and one champagne....fell in love immediately with the white dial and purchased....so far no regrets will put the rootbeer itch on hold....but as said previously these maybe easier to source nowadays

From experience, you did the right thing. If you want a specific watch, wait and get it. Nothing else will do. You’ll end up going in circles only to end up getting the watch you want. Good luck.

You didn't want it so you didn't buy it. No regret necessary.
All the best with your SS quest. |

If you don't like it, you did the right thing. BUT I own a black and white SS and now want to add the white or champagne dial TT Daytona.

Did the same thing a couple months ago when I passed on a SD43 in favor of waiting for a Deep Sea, no regrets, money is too tough to come by.

Indeed, only buy what you like.
I do think it would be a great watch though. |

I usually also have buyers remorse by turning things down I didn't ask for to begin with...
Buy what you want, not what is offered. And let's be honest, if it didn't say "Daytona" but "Datejust" you would have ZERO buyers remorse... |

It sounds like you had a tough decision to make. But don't worry, you're definitely not an idiot! It's all about personal preference when it comes to watches. If you really want an all-stainless Daytona, then it's totally understandable that you turned down the two-tone option. Trust your gut and wait for the one that truly speaks to you. The Rolex collective would say that it's important to get the watch that makes you the happiest. Keep searching, and you'll find your perfect match!

I think the TT Daytona, especially white dial, is spectacular. Truly stunning, and far better in person than pictures can possibly capture. Looks good with anything and everything, from a casual polo and shorts, to a formal suit/tie or sport jacket.
In my opinion, the TT is far more elevated than the steel version. The gold components literally highlight and accentuate every design element of the Daytona model line: The polished center link oyster bracelet, the tachymeter bezel, the pushers/crown, and the subdials. All those visible cues are harmoniously celebrated with 18 karats of elegance, and the white dial and 904 oyster steel blend beautifully with this illumination. It all just works so well, so balanced and so classy. It has a certain je ne sais quoi that cannot be beat. Definitely a worthy prize for the winner of the Rolex 24 at Daytona, and a very special watch. But that's just me. I still get the obsession that so many have for the steel version. The steel is a little more of an "every-day" kind of piece, and more under-the-radar in my opinion. Especially the black dial. I can fully understand owning both in a collection, there's room for them to co-exist. Good luck in your quest! Any Daytona is a very rare bird. They say a bird in the hand is better than two in the bush.
