116618ln vs 116618ln gold sub fit?

116618ln vs 126618ln***

Whats your opinion on the fit for each? Some say the older 116 fits better on the wrist however in photos the newer 126618 looks awesome. Considerable savings in the grey market for the 116 which I have heard fits better with the slimmer bracelet and clasp. Personally have only tried on the 126LN. What’s your opinion?

I actually find the majority think the 12 series subs fits and looks better. The only complaint is the longer clasp. Which can affect wearability, yes. For me, 12 series fits slightly better, not a huge difference though. Still if price was about the same I'd go 12 for the longer PR and slightly better case dimensions.

Better movement in the 11 if that matters to you.

I was always a hard-core fan of the fatboy (11) sub. But wearing as of january this year the 12 it has changed my opinion.

Both great choices👍✔️

I have the 126618 and the fit is great plus the proportions are better IMO

The clasp is the same length it’s about 1mm wider

I find the old bracelet clasp set up to be more “manageable”. I wouldn’t say the new one is uncomfortable just larger wearing.

I have a 124060 and it wears slightly different than the 114060. Not better or worse just different. I have owned numerous 11 series Submariners and have never had a movement issue before. My 124060, with the new movement, is now at the RSC for the second time. It was sent in for significant time loss. RSC did a service and returned the watch and my AD checked the time and it was still off significantly so back it went. Is it the movement of the new watches, maybe. Or maybe it is just my turn in the service cycle but if I have anymore issues once it comes back and is right then it will be gone and replaced with 114060. I will not pay the premium for a 126618LB or LN. The value is in the 116618's. I am trying to decide if I want a LB or LN. Right now the LN is winning but we will see.

Why not? im in the same boat but set in the LN. Just trying to determine if the 11 fits a bit slimmer overall.

I like the proportions of the 12 better but I also like the gold lettering on the dial on the 11 more than the white lettering on the 12. All and all, they’re pretty close for me. My choice would come down to how much I’m saving with the 11 and condition of each.

I like the 116, only thing I’m missing is AR under the crystal.

The 11 series for the more reliable movement the narrower bracelet and clasp.
Love the maxi case and save some bucks.

In the end of the day nobody sees the difference from one foot away

Fit/feel imo is negligible. Looks however are personal preference, I’d choose 12 series based on looks alone if given a choice. If money were a significant factor in a deal, and all other factors (condition, warranty, etc…) were the same…I would own an 11 series no problem.

12 series for me. The gold text on 11 series looks too “old man” for me, doesn’t pop nearly as nice

White text looks cleaner definitely. I overlooked that.

definitely the 116618. the clasp isn't massive like on the 126618, and plus, you can get waaaay better value on the 116618; I bought one preowned over the summer, and the price I got was a good $7k lower than what I would've paid if I went for a 126618lb

As a 5 digit (16618) gold text owner and an “old man” I take offence to that remark! You young whippersnapper rapscallion!!!

The 11 series 6 digit 18LN has white text…some earlier ones around 2008 had gold text.

11 series is the best imo.

Really? I thought all the 116 had gold text and the white text was only on the new 126 reference.
