You need to find out what this watch really is if you seriously want to make an offer. Get photos of between the lugs and inside the caseback. Also good photos of the clasp and bracelet. Obviously you can’t trust the sellers info.

You need to pin down what you are being offered first before a value can be attached to it. So better pix and numbers between lugs would be a good place to start, plus all the bits and bobs included in the sale.

Nice case, the serial places it a bit earlier at 1961 ish, can you confirm you have a 5512? It's between the lugs
as mentioned earlier the bracelet, which looks very worn, dial hands and insert have all been replaced at a later date. |

Doesn't look like much 5512 is remaining...

Agree that the serial would likely place this watch a couple of years earlier than stated.
No telling what is inside, but it seems to be a watch put together for sale without regard to proper parts for the reference.

Don't offer anything. This is an assembled Sub with wrong parts for the reference and year. From a collector's viewpoint it's worthless, except for its parts, assuming the parts are authentic.

This is the quotation from rolex Thailand.
Would this make it back to a 5512? |

I think people have already responded to you questions so adding additional pics and asking if that "changes" the view on the 5512 is pointless.
members have said a number of times to you already that most of the original 5512 reference has been replaced over time including dial, bezel insert, hands, bracelet. you need to do your own research on what that means re: value but its safe to say the premium for a 1961 rolex 5512 (which would have come on a gilt dial) is absent but nonetheless, the watch still has value. do a bit of googling - there is a good guide written by Bob's watch covering this particular reference. We aren't here to do your work for you. |

Quite possible it is a 5512, but with a bunch of replacement parts, some possibly incorrect for the watch. Some paperwork from Rolex doesn't mean much to me, because lots of things could have been done afterwards. It's not a watch I'd be interested in, but if you just want a nice looking watch, you don't care about collectibility, and it's dirt cheap, then go for it. Just keep in mind that it will be hard to sell if you change your mind.

It is a 5512. The 5513 did not come out until the end of the PCG era in the mid 8xxK serial range.

With these mismatched watches it really depends on price and whether even at a price you're into that kind of thing.

A PCG 5512 case is worth £5k+ alone....it's a bitsa watch granted, but if we'll priced eg £7500 or so... might be worth a punt if the cal is correct early one/caseback/ft first 5513dial/93150 are ok.
4 line matte (circa 66-85) dials come up for £2-3k.... and that dial if legit would fetch 1.5-2k btw to offset. Gilt early 60s 5512 two liner dials - I saw one sell for £9k last month/ gilt hands another £2k....but you would have a £30k watch. Ps crown looks period!

I think as a daily vintage beater it’s worth an offer if they are up for it.
Just make reasonable offer of what similarly priced 5512-13s regardless of year with mostly service parts and a good bit of polishing. Just go to Chrono24 sort low to high and then probably cut $1k off (possibly more, many dealers are just fishing IMO) from that and you’re in the range.

if all parts are legit (need to see a photo with open case back) this watch worths at least 8k euros resale value tomorrow morning.
Case, dial, case back, movement, bracelet, crown..... i just feel unconfortable with an original owner which would have kept the rolex guarantee paper since the 60ies in a drawer but would have had his watch serviced with wrong parts... weird but possible as some divers wanted to have their watches glowing in the dark ... |

$999.99. And that’s just to have some fun and see if there’s a quartz movement inside.

So OP (Deepsix)... Are you still thinking about purchasing this watch? Did you buy it or did you walk away from this one?
