Hi all,

I happen to have quite a few business trips to Hong Kong this year (now that travel is finally open again) and naturally my mind has turned to whether or not it makes sense for my 16570 78360 bracelet to get some Michael Young magic.

The timing of my trips would be ideal for an in-person drop-off and pick-up, so I am thinking, well, why not?

The question for you all: Judging by the looks of this bracelet, do you think it's worth having him restore the tightness?

I'm on the fence...without these trips to Hong Kong I'm not sure I would consider it as seriously as I am right now

For me personally I would say it’s not that bad. But what really matters is what you think. You can also find bracelet repair options in the US so although HK trips make it convenient it’s not your only option.

That bracelet looks fine to me. I’d give it another decade or so before a refurbish.

A big "No." That bracelet looks fine.

Also, I actually had a negative experience with Michael Young's shop, although I recognize that many people have also had good experiences. They badly over-polished the clasp of one of my Sub bracelets, all but removing the crown.

If you do decide to have them work on your bracelet, I'd suggest that you don't allow them to polish it.

Just to pile on to what others have already stated here...that oyster is not in need of restoration in my opinion. Brushing is solid with no scratches (at least on the half we can see) and the stretch is minimal.

Doesn’t look like it needs it yet.

I had MY do a bracelet in about 2016 and by then he was very specific about the polish of the clasp warning me that some definition of the crown can be lost. I think he actually advised against polishing near the crown. Probably due to feedback…

Thanks, all - looks like the consensus is "no" and I will save my time and expense in HK for some good Dim Sum instead :)

Re: stretch issues - I had always heard about these hollow center link Oysters being easier to stretch and wear, but have never had a reference point for what "good" vs "stretched" look like on my own bracelet - so thank you all!

Another no from me, but just FYI in case you have visited Michael Young before, his business very recently relocated from TST to Central.

Possibly an unpopular opinion. But I actually think the bracelets are comfier on the wrist with a bit more flex in the bracelet. Leave it alone IMO.

When a band is stretched the first link kind of wobbles grinds on the inside of the lugs. Yours isn’t even coming close. Save your money
