NOS, Repainted or Refinished?
Curious as to others thoughts….
Looking at buying a datewheel for my GMT. I come across NOS, Repainted, Refinished. Do you think it makes a difference? Me I think the NOS but as we know there is quite a price difference.

If you're going to have someone pull the Dial and hands, might as well do it right the first time. Would be a shame to have a refinished date wheel installed only to have it stick because they painted it too thick, slightly worn teeth, possible distortion to the metal from the refurb, etc. Personally I get nervous anytime I have work done on a watch, so I do my best to minimize going in there. |

How much are they asking for an original date wheel these days?
