4 New DSOTMs
Omega really does like to create a 100 deviations of one watch...

I have been complaining on the new white one on IG, but this is just ridicolous. I just don't see myself buying an Omega again.

The original DSOTM is still the winner for me.

Looks like they're taking the Panerai approach to this, aka make one thing that's cool, then milk it to death, then squeeze a bit more, then press harder.

nothing comes close to the original...now they just devalued it by 100x with different versions...."dark side of the moon" should be all black..no thanks

So dissappointed when I saw this on hodinkee this morning....why ruin a good thing..sort of saw this coming with the grey side.
No longer want this watch as they have ruined some of the magic for me. |

At least we will have some strap options for the original. I agree the original is the best and wil prob be the most collectable down the road. What do you guys think of the black leather on the original?

Ridiculous. Have the original and happy that I picked it up at the time as these variants are trite and overdone. Fake patinas, overdone lumen, glossy white ceramics, blacked-out unreadable dial...what are they doing to the classic and classy Speedmaster.
Not to mention that the bi-compax 9300 doesn't suit the Speedmaster design at all. Why not take that nice movement and produce a new and modern chronograph. Position the Speedmaster as a unique standalone piece, like the Daytona, with a limited edition or one-off piece like the DSOM every once in awhile. |

But I love my omegas. I would flip my rolexs before I'd get rid of either omega.

Not my cup of tea, I don't really like the original DSOTM either. A vintage speedy or Pierce Brosnan era Bond Seamaster is still the best Omega has to offer IMO.

So much for exclusivity. Hey remember when the original DSOTM came out and people were clamoring and saying it was going to be a boutique exclusive for at least a year... yeah.
Oh, and don't worry - there aren't just FOUR new ones... according to their YouTube video, there are diamond bezel/diamond dial versions coming soon too! http://youtu.be/fhE-UWQsw1M Omega, I love you and all, but what the f...???

Well this is just how Omega does business. When they introduced the Seamster 300 master co-axial they went with 6 new variations at once. For Rolex that would have taken 20 years. Still the Speedmaster Moonwatch has looked the same for about 50 years.

Oh, and these new ones all have a "ceramic foldover clasp". I'm pretty sure that's Omega's fancy way of saying "deployant". Too bad the original DSOTM and GSOTM didn't have those. I wonder how much they will cost separately.

If you look at the pics where the 4 are together they have the same clasp as the current dsotm. I would like to add the black leather to my dsotm though :)

I first got into higher end watches a few years ago and thought then there were a lot of variation models. This is now overload.
