Benefits New vs Used?

Im curious of thoughts and opinions on New vs Used for a Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch/Sapphire Sandwich.

I have been looking for a while and i havent been able to readily find a used "Sapphire Sandwich" 3573.50 and the more recent 311.30.42.30.01.006 .

I really enjoy the large box with all the accessories the new watch comes with, and would love to find this set in gently used condition.

But New vs Used there is a good price difference.
Is this just an opinion based answer?

Thanks for the thoughts in advance.

I was in the same spot about a year ago. Due to the price difference that I could stomach, I went with BNIB from a trusted seller on this forum. Last time I checked the classifieds, you could get one for about $3,8K.

Benefits of new from AD: warranty, authenticity, new in box

Benefits of used: cost

The bottom line is peace of mind. However, if you go with a trusted seller, I think you can negate most of that then it just becomes about the cost. Some of the "lightly" used prices I have seen are borderline grey market NIB prices so YMMV.

The difference in price will seem insignificant a year from now. If it's a watch you plan on keeping my advice is buy new.

+1

Here is my story. I got a BNIB Omega Speedmaster from a trusted seller here. Recently I have been contemplating the sale and really the difference between what I paid for the watch and what I could get was about $400.

If you purchase a used watch on the forum, you'll probably want to authenticate and perhaps regulate it. This will run you around $150. So, is $250 that much of a deal?
